Balthazar King - roughly 18/1 most places at moment, but like above this is anyones race.

Chicago Grey for me

Might have a few bob each way on Across the Bay for an outside bet too!!

Oscar Time each way. Finished second two years ago and could finish high again. Not sure on odds but think it's pretty long. Chicago Grey is a great shout. Cappa Bleu too.

I think the winner is one of these:

Across the bay
Ballabriggs
Colbert station
On his own
Lost glory
Sea bass
Bigfellathanks

I'm not concentrating on any other horses. :ayatollah:

Whatever horse you finally decide on, take a price when you place your bet - the prices are always shorter at the off :ayatollah:

Roberto Goldblack 33/1- Henderson's horse and he's confident.

BecauseIcouldntsee 66/1 -I was tipped this but I can't see why it's fancied. Its a Co Tipperary horse and someone is in the know. I'll have a small e/w bet on it.

Ballabriggs 20/1 - getting on but jumps forever. Ive backed it in the last 2 years so a small bet to win.

Basically it's a lottery.

Good each way bets there in my opinion.

Re: TIPS FOR THE GRAND NATIONAL!!!

How many places are the bookies doing for each ways? I don't want to back a horse each way if it comes 5th and the bookies aren't going to 5 places! Ladbrokes is the nearest bookies to me but they're quite rubbish so I doubt they will go to 5 places? Will Hills do 5 places?

Re: TIPS FOR THE GRAND NATIONAL!!!

Its gotta be Cappa Bleu or Roberta Goldblack

Dont be silly. No they aint. It depends on the horse.

That is the worst advice ever.

On His Own for example is now 11/1 with some firms out from 15/2 take the price and get fucked.

Best thing to do is bet online and get guaranteed best odds. Anyone who bets in a shop is either a mug or a once
a year gambler betting for fun.

only place your gona get 5 places is online bet365 also do best odds guarenteed

Re: TIPS FOR THE GRAND NATIONAL!!!

Fri Apr 05, 2013 9:33 pm

Nonsense.

Paddy Power are also paying 5 places and I could point you in the direction of at least 2 other online bookmakers that are paying 5 places. Furthermore most online bookmakers do guaranteed best odds, in fact all the mainstreams do, including Paddy Power, Ladsbrokes and William Hill.

Why people post inaccuracies on here about stuff they clearly haven't got a clue about is beyond me.

Do you work for Bet365?

Cheers. I did a bit of browsing and it looks like Victor Chandler are offering the first 6 places for each way. I have an account for Paddy Power so I will just do mine on there I think.

Good Luck Mate

:ayatollah:

Cheers mate, my choice is Teaforthree, who I think has the stamina, jumping ability and form to win. But I expect Cappa Bleu, Chicago Grey, Balthazar King and Roberto Goldback to all be challenging if they don't fall or get brought down.

My two outsider selections are Always Waining, who has previously won the Topham (mini Grand National) 3 times in a row - there must be a reason why it's being put in the main Grand National this time instead of the Topham for the 4th time in a row surely? My other outsider is Harry The Viking, who I think looks excellent value for an each way at 40/1. It came 2nd in a 4 mile chase at the Cheltenham Festival, only losing to Teaforthree and has age, weight and most importantly, the ground on its side, as it prefers good ground to soft ground.

Good luck to you and everyone else as well. It's a lottery and knowing my luck, all the horses I have mentioned will either fall, get hampered or be brought down, so don't bet silly amounts!

I dont fancy TeaForThree mate, 2nd in the Welsh and a Cheltenham winner but nah, SunnyHillboy carrying 10lb more than last year is also a no no to me. Seabass is a strong choice along with the obvious, On His own is on the drift big time, 12/1 now from 15/2, something a bit strange there.

Chicago Grey will go off fav, just been named as the pricewise tip so watch it get smashed now, good chance aswell.

Imperial Commander, top weight big ask, I like Saint Are, Soll and Roberton Goldback at bigger odds, good luck mate and everyone else, enjoy the race and hope everyone comes home safe.

**

and on a final note I have to have a rant at the BBC, wankers to a man, just cos they lost the national cos they wouldn't put up the funds they have been so negative this year, two main headlines for horses passing away. Would never been the case if they still had the race, bitter and twisted!

Here's a tip for the Grand National..............
If you're Mrs asks you to put a bet on do it........
A few years back, the wife who always puts a tenner on a horse to win, only on national day, told me to place a bet on a horse called Mohne Mohne.......I couldn't be arsed to do it when I went out.........
Did you put it on?....yes I replied
Now for those that don't know, it came in at 100-1, what a tw*t I felt :(
And she still hasn't let me live it down
True story...no shit!

My tip is........ Don't bet on a horse that I bet on as the 2 I bet on last year died! Once I bet tomorrow on the couple of horses it can basically increase your chance of a winner by voting on the other 40 odd

Sunnyhill something or other. Won't win but a lot of money going on E/W thats the bet.

Was told who would win it but forgot, Oirish chaps, think they own the race ground, stadium, track whatever.

Go for the E/W bets as most bookies are paying to fifth or sixth place.
