We should have an anthem next season

If they want to get fans on side then they should engage with us. They want us to embrace the new Cardiff City and the vision they have for the club then work with us because so far nothing has happened.

We need to improve the atmosphere so why not have an anthem? A Welsh anthem would be great. When you look at clubs like Roma, Juventus, Galatasaray, etc. they all have their own anthems in their own language and thats what kick started their great atmospheres. After time of the same song playing fans get used to it, they hear the lyrics and they then join in.

Its not going to fix things over night but its a step in the right direction. Someone suggested Yma O Hyd before and I don't see why thats an issue. In fact its a great suggestion.

3. It will eventually help our atmosphere because fans will get more involved once it becomes the norm

Great Song, Great Suggestion. especially when you know why the song was written and what it means. Yes Men of Harlech is good too. Only really been played before games Since Sam Hammam came along. Not really been a success as fans don't sing along, they just clap. Personally I'd be to embarrassed to say the words are too difficult to learn as suggested by some fans. Both songs, Yma O Hyd and Men of Harlech are great anthems to be sung at Cardiff.
Personally I think Yma O Hyd is very rousing and gets the emotions going, if it doesn't stir your emotions then I suggest you learn about it.

Cardiff/Swansea/Wrexham fans sing Men Of Harlech, but it doesn't make it a football song. In fact, a large amount of songs that are sung at football aren't football songs.

Agreed. I don't think the majority of Cardiff fans sing Men of Harlech properly because there's too many words to learn, or they're just too lazy.

Yma O Hyd used to be played down at Ninian Park, I have no idea why they don't play it anymore though, I used to love walking behind the Bob Bank to my seat when I was a kid with that playing just before kick off. I'd love it if we started singing it, but I wouldn't get my hopes up knowing our fan base.

90% of our fans can't speak Welsh for starters and can't be arsed to learn English songs. It's a decent song but it's cringeworthy and why the f**k would we sing a Welsh protest song at a football match? I am sorry but this is a non starter. Men of Harlech and i'll be there for me all the way.
