Glasgow Rangers

went to the rangers game yesterday

we as a club could learn a lot from them, their pub accross the road was wall to wall rangers and packed to the rafters, the steward at the club was like an after dinner speaker and after the game it was the same with loads of trays of pies and ham rolls coming out for free

we were made to feel like gods in there had our flags out and there was a stampede to have photos taken of the flags

really opened my eyes to see what the club has been through and how loyal their supporters are (all be it a bit religious  )

anyway cracking weekend :malky:

Amazing how some shoot down Celtic all the time yet turn a blind eye to the most sectarian club in the UK.

Ive been to Ibrox twice this season, the fans are always great. As Annis says,we could learn from their support,no way would they have put up with the nonsense we have.Watched the game on a live stream yesterday,it was woeful,no atmosphere, very poor quality football, and, by all accounts freezing cold.Still the best stadium in the country imo

i am not shooting down Celtic or defending the sectarianism i found it really cringeworthy at times pre match but its the tradition of the club thats stronger than ever, even after all they have bee through their support is loyal to the core

I was talking generally about some here....never intended to imply you were.

As for tradition though...I think it would be good if they lost some of that tradition.

It wouldn't be hard to keep tradition going, they're less than a year old and don't believe any different no matter what they tell you!!!

The bit about Clydebank is the only bit that's right ;)

I was there as well as I follow Dunfermline in Scotland. You're right about the cold, absolutely freezing. The club will be wound up tomorrow by H.M.R.C unless tax bill is paid. Sad times for an old Scottish club :ayatollah:

Baz, guessing you went to the Louden Tavern, Ibrox (formerly the Staduium Bar for us old-timers & itk jocks on this board lol)

Most sectarian club in the uk - don't make me laugh! There's a mock-irish club not a million from them that's much, much worse. Child abuse condoning, terrorist-supporting scum that they are.

Paul - a year old? LMFAO - you must have been spending to much time with the mad oirishman form the Pandy Inn! The company went bust, not the Rangers - much the same as Bristol City 1984Ltd & Swansea City 1984/2002 Ltd. The SFA & UEFA have acknowledged this - for some reason (maybe beneficial to themselves lol), others haven't. 54 and counting.....

I'd rather they were seen as the same entity but for the life of me cannot see how they can be the same. The SFA couldn't run a raffle so whatever they acknowledge counts for little!!! At Clydebank we display the honours the old club had, I know now we are not the same club, we just have the same name, crest etc. I want it to be the same club, but deep down I know it isn't.

Didnt the Louden, former stadium bar, used to be much bigger?Im sure it was, hadnt been to Ibrox for ages until last season, and i remembered it as being bigger.
All the rest of your post is 100% correct.WATP

I wouldn't fakin want any of Rangers' or Celtic's bigoted history or tradition. Load of bollocks. Give me good ole Cardiff City any time whatever state we're in. I'd rather we judged each other on scarf colour than fakin religion. :thumbright:

Sadly CCFC have sold their history, tradition and pride and soul to a Malaysian dictator.I dont think it will ever be the same again

Read PtB's comments! Anyway, I don't mean to be disrespectful, both Celtic and Rangers have huge passionate support, I just can't stand the religious bigotry that goes with it.

Re: Glasgow Rangers

Ptbs comments are 100% wrong, its still Rangers, same club etc,Uefa have confirmed it,no titles stripped no history taken away, and they will forever play in blue

Because UEFA gave a history of getting things correct?!?

No titles were stripped, history can't be taken away. The club that won them was though, the new club will be almost as successful.

People believe what they want to, doesn't make them right.

No, who told you that ?

Re: Glasgow Rangers

Rangers are by far the most bigoted club in the country. Horrible club for horrible fans. They sing a song with references to being knee high in fenian club, they have cheated many clubs out of money with there finances over the past decade and worst of all they have gotten away so lightly it's beggars belief.

Before anyone says I am not a Celtic fan nor a catholic, Celtic have some right wankers following them too but Rangers are by far the worse of the two.

No, us Bankie boys support Clydebank.

If it was the same club they wouldn't be playing in Division 3.

Whenever you mention bigotry to Rangers and Celtic fans, they never try to explain it or justify it.

That's because they know it's a load of bollocks.

How can you despise other people who are just like you but happen to be another religion purely by accident of birth?

And religion doesn't even come into it for most of them. How many actually go to church?

Someone please explain to me why bigotry is totally acceptable to a Rangers or Celtic fan?

To me they're as bad as each other.

In fact, they might as well be the same club.

How about this for a newco - Celgers FC, nicknamed The Bigots and playing in green and blue stripes?
