is it time to call it a day at CCFC.

Wed Mar 13, 2013 7:42 am

I am in a very awkward position I am thinking of not renewing my season ticket as I hate what VT has done to my club .

I have tried hard to except it but I cant in fact its cringe worthy for me .It finished me off last night to see Leicester come to are place and play in are blue with blue scarfs singing wheres your bluebird gone.

The problem is I am so passionate about my club I have supported for 34 years that to see us change so much takes away the very basis of my pride and passion and its the identity of ccfc. Some people can move on and except it and I respect that I dont like it though.

My kids still want to go to games next year and want me to renew my ST but when like last night you sit there and have to go through torcher watching CCFC and to be honest for the first time ever I didnt give a shit if we won and part of me says I hope we dont go up maybe then Tan will f**k off and maybe people will turn.

What upsets me is seeing fans walking around the place in Red I am gutted to the max .I feel like most of you would if we lost the name Cardiff City .The fact is the club I have doted on for so many years is still there hiding under a screen of VT ,S rebrand

Basically my kids want to go and I dont, normally I would do anything for my kids but I cant sit amongst it no more its painful and its getting worse the pain is turning to anger for me .So is it time to call an end to my 34 years any body else in the same position what have you done my head is in the shed over it.

In my opinion you should stick with it, consider the fact you may not get your ticket back if we get promoted and get a prolonged stay in the prem.

Lots of people are complaining about the new breed of fan but progress brings new faces, if I didn't there would still be 2000 watching.

The fact you put the colour red over your kids enjoyment is quite shocking.

If you don't feel you want to go anymore and wish to see City lose or not get promotion perhaps you shouldn't go anymore but don't spoil it for you kids put them first and see if there's someone else who can take them and not spoil their enjoyment

It's more than a colour. It's a clubs 108 year identity and history that is being changed. I have followed City since 1968 and I agree that it is very difficult to see the club change, for what?

Ok, the fact you put that before your kids enjoyment is quite shocking.

I tend to agree

I sat there last night and my old man who has supported Cardiff since the 60s and he wore a red top.
He said "They've played for us on the pitch all season and wore this strip, they've put us in this great position, and I will support them for it" which in my eyes is a fair enough statement. But as I stated last nite, "I could never wear Red" I don't identify my Club with it.
It's a hard and bitter pill to swallow for many.

But above all else, While we are Cardiff City, I will Follow them.

WOULD SELL MY SOUL TO BE COLOUR BLIND THOUGH

I have been supporting the club for the same length of time as you Justin.

When the clour change was anounced I was surprised to say the least. But I made my decision at that time. It would not stop me supporting the club I love and therefore accepted it and moved on. After all it is only a colour. We are still Cardif City, with the same Manager, same players, same ground etc.

My rational for this decision was based on the fact that I could do nothing to change it and thus why worry about something I cannot affect.

I do understand that some have found it heart wrenching and respect their views. But I feel that to deny your kids the opportunity to follow the club they love over a colour and badge change is not the way forward. Particularly as we are on the verge of great things and possibly getting to the top tier for the first time since you have supported us.

I would suggest you renew, if only for your kids, and see how you feel at the end of next season when the pain may have been blunted.

Whichever way you go it's your decision which I respect. :ayatollah:

Take the children out of the equation. I was looking at it in relation to their feelings. Clearly arrangements can be made for the children to be taken by another family member if it came to that. If a person has a strong feeling about something then they should not be criticised. They are standing up for to what they believe in.

Going to the football with my dad is one of the best memories i have. Dont take that away from your children over a football club and its "identity" as you will regret it. Whats more important to you? If the answer is CCFC you need to go and seek some help.

Well you shouldn't let those mean Leicester fans bully you because we've still got the bluebird!

Why on earth is this a sticky?

I said exactly the same last night.Ive been supporting, every season, since my first game in 1968,but i just dont like it anymore, every game has become an effort to attend.I never liked the crude rebrand, but the frenzy for the free scarves was the tipping point for me.Ive been going to renew every weekend for a while now,but i just cant do it.I feel sad and angry about the whole thing.

I feel exactly the same as the OP.

I decided to give it a go this season when I was over the initial shock of the announcement of the rebrand. Sadly my apprehension has turned into anger and Blue Tuesday was the night that broke the camels back for me. Since then I have gone to games in the hope my anger will subside and I can see a way forward to continue. I will give it to the end of the season to see how I feel although I can't see myself bothering regardless if we get promoted or not.

stick at it because we are still Cardiff city, it shouldn't matter what colour we play in aslong as we stick together, owners come and go but being a bluebird is forever :ayatollah:

Personally I think you should relinquish your season ticket because you hurt so much over your beloved Cardiff Blue, it seems a very good reason to give up watching Premiership football,............oh and your kids enjoyment which you seem great delight autheristising over!,..........................................your just another attention seeker!! with a bad case of munchausen by proxy

some people need to realise its hard to watch a team you've supported all your life, play in a different colour and a different badge.

what i dont see why VT has changed the colour? for a fact we havent changed a bit whilst playing in RED, he says playing in BLUE is unlucky in Malaysia yet there international team play in BLUE?

i'll never wear RED at a Cardiff City game.

i used to like the colour RED as our away kit, but not home.

im starting to see the stadium shortly turning into RED.

also i think VT was trying to sweeting everyone up with a FREE scarf wasnt a very good idea, its made alot of supporters angry.

i get where everyone is comming from? we still got the BLUEBIRD but for how much longer?

and people also say how pathetic it is for people to fuss over a colour, but for some people its not just the colour there worried about its their identity, everyone firstly didnt accept the colour change but now they do?

alot of clubs owners have threaten to change their club crest, like crystal palace?

but their fans stood up to them.

i will never stop supporting Cardiff City even though it makes me sick to see all these glory hunters walking out when were loosing?

also for people to accept there club has been sold, and were a laughing stock by everyone in the football league, even if we do make the promise lands it just wont be the same playing in RED.

but i can see if we dont make the promise lands, there will be riots

i also popped into the club shop to have a look at a few things, but there was hardly anything there BLUE?

he's stopped us playing BLUE for away games?

MY OPINION ALWAYS WEAR BLUE AND LETS KEEP THE BLUE FLAG FLYING HIGH :ayatollah:

LETS HOPE VT KNOWS WHAT HES DOING :malky:

What utter crap! Our identity has been changed completely.
To something completely unrecognisable and wrong.
Plus we've only just managed to hang on to the name Cardiff City Football Club.
Unbelievable!!

i agree with with you bricky blue ,been a fan since 1977 and as much as ive tried to get used to it ,i cant it'll always be blue for me and no other colour.every home game i feel im watching another team ,all these red lovers can bitch and moan at us blues but i dont give a shit for them and that they think vt is right ,it'll never feel the same to me anymore and im getting to the point we im not enjoying it ,more so cos on saturday we were in a pub on the weekend and saw one of the boys id known for years and a conversation ended in a arguement over the colurs and who was right and wrong,it was ridiculous and this is what tan has brought to the club mates falling out !!!!

With respect, if you want an excuse NOT to go anymore just 'man up' and say so ;)

If the ONLY reason you are thinking of abandoning the club is the Red/Blue issue then why grumble about last night's performance (against a pretty good Leicester outfit)?? :?

Very few are pro-Red but there is a far bigger picture here and the TEAM are what we SHOULD all be here for (unless, of course, we have a spare £100m or so with which to buy VT out  ) ;)

If not, then it's simple: TARA!!

you should value the quality time you have with your kids at the game.watching them enjoy theirselves at the game should be worth the entrance fee in itself.you never know whats round the corner. :old:
