Great man!

I think everybody went mental for 2 minutes after he scored! He must have loved it when Ali announced the goal scorer and the fans drowned him out.
He gets a lot of grief off fans, but tonight he is a hero!

Say what you want about rudy. Got his head screwed on, down to earth too.

He may not be premiership quality but the guy has heart and loves playing for the club. Id rather have him than someone like Bothroyd
Wed Mar 13, 2013 1:27 am
My father said we needed to bring him on, to which I gave him a rather sceptical look. Fair play to Rudy though, he made the difference tonight through that header and has won us what may be a valuable point come the end of the season. Can't fault his attitude.
I don't think I've celebrated a goal as much as his all season. Shame half the fans missed it.

Annis, take a look at the post below. I looked into my crystal ball. That is the point that will clinch the title.
Operation No Limit is Successful. You will have done well Agent Gestede.

Won everything in the air when he came on. Everyone slags him off but we looked more dangerous once he was on and he took his goal well. If we are just going to keep resorting to hoofing the ball up to our strikers why might as well start him as he's the only one who will win it.

Have you noticed how the people you least expect it from manage to score for us in those moments when the need for a goal is really desperate?
I think it shows a lot of character and team spirit.
Rudy did it last night, Helgusson has done it, Connorly scored twice in a game having never scored for anyone and we won 2 - 0.
And who can forget the diving header to give us a 1- 0 lead in the 94th minute by Captain Marvel in the first game of the season against Huddrsfield?
Without that our record home run would never have even started.
It goals like these that make me much less nervous than in other years.

Good for him, he has taken some shit from a lot on this forum but when he came on he was one of the few who looked like he was up for the fight

He did the same bar score at the Kingpower as well.

He's been our best player in the last 2 games despite only coming on as a late sub

thing is, if we had lost 1-0 last night, this board would be full of "why did we bring that donkey on" or "ffs he's not good enough" but as he's scored the equaliser he's back to being a "hero"

some (most) fickle fans

He just gets better and better he was excellent lastnight even the radio pundits were praising him as we were on our way home..
I know your stubborn Annis but surely you can see him progressing?
Wed Mar 13, 2013 9:21 am
If we are going to start a game with two wingers why not start with gestede?
Wed Mar 13, 2013 9:36 am
Rudy certainly gave Wes Morgan more to do in 10 minutes than he did for the previous 80. But I cant understand why when you bring a big striker on you take your only proper winger off ?

Our new hero!!!! As my dad calls him "rusty bedstead"

I have never rated Rudy but admire his character. Glad he scored last night for himself but can't see him being around much longer.

THAT MAN IS A LIVING LEGEND!
Wed Mar 13, 2013 10:52 am
The guy is quality,
He was down the house of sport last Wednesday... My boy was playing for the school, against other schools, all the kids swarmed him, he was signing bits of paper, hands, arms, shirts and even signed my boys shoe!
Very accomodating!
Must say mcphail was also there, and gave the kids the same treatment

whatever your opinion on him, its hard to argue that he has come on and altered games all season for us, and he did it again last night, looked the best of the bunch going forward and got a really good goal. im pleased for him.
Is there a case for maybe starting him on saturday?

If we are going to play hoofball from the back then we might as well put him on.
Sack Malky and bring in John Beck.

You will be eating humble pie when liverpool pay 28m for him

I'd start him up at Sheffield, and see how he goes, I rudy and campbell could work well with bellers and Noone on the flanks.
Wed Mar 13, 2013 2:04 pm
For as much as people slate him, he was fantastic last night, he's putting in a shift when it matters most
Wed Mar 13, 2013 2:27 pm
It has been established that he's a decent impact player off the bench but he's proved time and time again that he can't play a full 90 minutes effectively. I'm really pleased for him because he seems like a really nice guy and he gives everything so I respect that. He would be one of the first names out the door if we went up though in my opinion.
