' AWFUL & THE WORST PERFORMANCE AT HOME THIS SEASON/ BUT '

Tue Mar 12, 2013 10:49 pm

What I saw tonight was a clueless team for the first time this season, Ipswich home was similar, but not as bad. Whitts shocking once again, Smith clueless, Hudson rushed back to quick,I hope we dont regret it, Bells pointless tonight and most of the team looked average, but I believe Campbell gave his all in the first half, but no one to play off, cant do it all on his own, faded in the second half.
Over all the team was clueless like I said and for the first time I felt Malky didn't know what he was doing.

But Malky brings on Rudy who I dont rate and saves the night. :ayatollah: :malky: :ayatollah:

Hurt seeing Leicester fans end in pure BLUE.

We were told tonight we we all allowed to stand, to create atmosphere in the Nininan Stand and guess what we were
They need to make up their minds our club.

On the way out one of the stewards who I had words with over the Red scarfs v Brighton game said to me, ever since Tan gave the Red scarfs out they cant win at home.

23,231 attended Cardiff City's match with Leicester with 976 foxes fans

BUT GUESS WHAT LADY LUCK IS WATCHING OVER US AND THE BLUEBIRDS ARE GOING UP. :ayatollah: :malky: :ayatollah:

Actually I thought last week was worse. At least Leicester are a half decent team.

Let's hope that late goal drives us on for the final run in!

Lets hope playing away for the next 2 games change our luck, but I take your point, everything is too slow, Campbell was screaming for a early ball but no, slow, slow, slow, malky must change things around, We are now without Hudson, where was Turner ? the young lad Nugent is low on confidence, and we are without a midfield, Leicester just cut right through us.

Bring in Kimbo and Mutch or if he keeps things the same, we will be where we don't want to be PLAYOFFS :x :x

Got to agree but I think derby was worse!
Side has run out of ideas.
Smith is past it
Whittingham is his usual self never plays well after December always the same.
Campbell needs someone to play off I agree but he looked tired second half
Nugent I know he is only 19 but he has got to be careful with his fouling he will get sent off soon.

I thought super Kevin done ok

My solution is drop whitts & gunner put in Kimbo & mutch bit of new energy also play Bellamy on one wing if fit and no one on the other. Upfront not sure who to partner Campbell

Also defence we are fucked no turner or Hudson for two weeks

Not one player on that field for both teams is good enough for premier league football and that's a fact

Re: ' AWFUL & THE WORST PERFORMANCE AT HOME THIS SEASON/ BUT

Tue Mar 12, 2013 11:09 pm

I don't think Campbell is fully fit yet, he got outpaced once by Wes Morgan. i thought Gestede was outstanding when he came on, he won every header and he deserved his goal. Worrying times though cos we were utter shit tonight

Re: ' AWFUL & THE WORST PERFORMANCE AT HOME THIS SEASON/ BUT

Tue Mar 12, 2013 11:11 pm

My biggest concern was the lack of flair and creativity when we had the ball, the amount of ball we gave away cheaply was uncharacteristic to say the least, we looked pedestrian going forward and I am not a person to single out players but Whittingham was playing it too safe tonight and not taking control of the game.

When the ball was at our Centre Halves feet there was a distinct lack of movement and very little showing in front of them.

We looked like we were playing from a text book manual tonight, too structured, too safe and more afraid of losing than attempting to win.

But as you say Annis we had a bit of luck again tonight and every team needs it share of luck to be successful, I still believe we will get promoted automatically, I just pray that the pressure is not getting too much for the team and the manager.

Maybe time to go back to what we do well under Malky and press the ball hard, win the midfield battle and give Whittingham protection to play a more attacking game, Cowie to come in and join the centre midfield maybe?

I said on Sunday a point would not be the end the world and despite the performance we got that point when it looked very likely we would get nothing from the game.

It is all about staying positive and keeping the faith, hopefully Hudson will not be out too long as we definitely need him at the back.

Now Malky needs to change it - pity help us if we do go up

Re: ' AWFUL & THE WORST PERFORMANCE AT HOME THIS SEASON/ BUT

Its slow and clueless alright dont think we had many shots on target either which has been the case in the last few home games.Nugent was off tonight but he has done well for us and is still learning and he will have learnt a lot tonight.

We always seem to bottle it at this stage in the season and we seem to have been wobbling again. We need a spark a bit of creativity from somewhere over to you Malky.

Re: ' AWFUL & THE WORST PERFORMANCE AT HOME THIS SEASON/ BUT

Tue Mar 12, 2013 11:24 pm

its gone tits up somewhere.playing as we are. sorry to say its play offs again. then its a lottery, have the players bottled it again. and if. we do go up looks like we need 12 maybe 15 players for the prem. because what we got. aint nowere near prem players. sad but true :(

agree with what you say, ithink our formation up front for the next few games must be noone and bellamy out wide campbell and as much as it hurts me to say rudy must partner him the only time we looked dangerous in the last couple of games is when rudy has come on :old: :ayatollah:

Re: ' AWFUL & THE WORST PERFORMANCE AT HOME THIS SEASON/ BUT

I couldn't go watch them today as last weeks performance was the worst I've seen them. I think they will bottle it and end up in playoffs again. If they go to the prem they will be walked over. Midfield is a absolute shambles and I agree get kimbo back on the pitch simple and easy football he play

Did i hear somewhere that Malky went to see Leicester play on saturday? What did he learn?

Re: ' AWFUL & THE WORST PERFORMANCE AT HOME THIS SEASON/ BUT

Tue Mar 12, 2013 11:48 pm

I still think we'll be ok because we have a team of triers who (like tonight) won't give up :ayatollah:

However, it was a poor performance and we lacked a 'cutting edge' because (a) Campbell had to cover too much ground away from his natural area, and (b) we didn't penetrate their area enough until Rudy came on :(

Unlike some I spoke to I don't think we've been 'sussed' but we do need something more 'positive' upfront

Nugent not a good night 'on the ball' and looked scared to do anything, although put some good tackles in. Can't be too hard on him, as he's still learning and needs encouragement ;)

Personally, I'd change the team for Saturday to look something like this and go for it:

Marshall

Connolly Hudson (if fit) Turner (if fit) Taylor

Cowie

Kim Bo Kyung Whittingham Bellamy

Gestede Campbell

Re: ' AWFUL & THE WORST PERFORMANCE AT HOME THIS SEASON/ BUT

Tue Mar 12, 2013 11:54 pm

We played poor tonight we had 2 wingers first half but no width because both Noone and Conway want to cut back inside and they effectively narrow the pitch. Definitely time to bring in Kimbo and give Whitts a rest I would go 4 5 1 with Campbell up front and a midfield of Bellamy, Kimbo, Gunnar Cowie, and Conway.

Cowie could be the holding midfielder allowing Gunnar to get forward and Kimbo to pick out the passes this 4 5 1 could easily become 4 4 2 with Bellamy joining Campbell up front. The back four would have to be Taylor, Connolly AN Other and Super Kev (Who did well when he came on) if Hudson & Turner are out for any length of time then the A N Other has to be a proven centre half on loan :old:

This will not happen however because I don't see Malky dropping Whitts

Just got home, another terrible performance sloppy passing and the players didn't seem up for the fight. 1st half Leicester kicked us about and nobody stood up to it! Side needs freshening up before Saturday! BUT still a point gained , another point closer! Believe :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :malky:

Re: ' AWFUL & THE WORST PERFORMANCE AT HOME THIS SEASON/ BUT

2am and have just got in, certainly not worth 4 hours each way to watch what was served up tonight! Malky has now got to find a way of calming the team down and getting their confidence back, because its all right certain players calling for the supporters not to panic, but it's them who are looking clueless. Marshal was taking free kicks within 10 minutes of the game, pumping long aimless balls up field. We were looking hurried, there was no composure from anyone and the pressure is certainly showing. I would give Campbell a rest, get back to Helguson and Mason up front and play a conventional 442

Agree with you Carl the 2 midfielders dont move about enough and were content to just keep passing sideways. Whitts is low on confidence and he's to unsure of himself at the moment. I hate to say it but he could do with being dropped he's too much of a luxury to have in the side when he's not performing which has been months. Need to freshen it up saturday bring in Kim and Rudy and drop smith. Also Malky needs to show faith in Kev, thought he was excellent when he came on today

Agree with this 100%. I've got to say I am starting to get a little concerned with the fact that Malky will not change things when it is blatantly obvious it's going wrong.

Good to see Super Kev back tonight!

Wed Mar 13, 2013 7:55 am

Basically we played with 5 in Midfield and 1 up front tonight and if Malky wants to play that kind of formation, he needs to go and find himself a target man, because Campbell certainly isn't that type of player and it showed!

I also thought we looked very lightweight in midfield tonight almost Bullied at times, didn't win many 50/50 challenges in there. Before anyone says size doesn't matter, we aint Barcelona and this is the Championship !

oi ladyboy why do you care? thought this rivary nonsense was illegal by the way you react to some other threads!!!
We aint a goood side? Top of the league 4 points clear with a game in hand would prove otherwise
Witts overated? Solid Championship footballer (the league we are in) whether he can cut it in the prem hopefully time will tell.
bad runs, good runs its a marathon not a sprint.
we got a point from a top six team fighting for a play-off spot desperate to change its form a point in all isnt a bad result though obviously 3 would have been better.

Lets look at Swansea shall we over this season
currently 9th in the prem so far this season youve lost 2-0 against Aston Villa(17th) does that make you a crap team?
lost to Everton(7th) 2-0 does that make you a crap team?
lost to Stoke City(11th) 2-0 does that make you a crap team?
lost to Manchester City (2nd) 1-0 does that make you a crap team?
lost to Norwich City (14th) 4-3 does that make you a crap team?
lost to Tottenham Hotspur (3rd) 1-0 does that make you a crap team?
lost to West Ham United (12th) 1-0 does that make you a crap team?
lost to Liverpool (6th) 5-0 does that make you a crap team?
lost to West Bromwich Albion (8th) 2-1 does that make you a crap team?
you couldnt beat Sunderland over 2 games 2 points out of 6, Southampton 1 point out of 3, Reading 2 points out of 6, Aston Villa 1 point out of 6 all teams lower than you in the league, does that make you a crap team?
out of 29 games youve only won 10 less than half of your games? does that make you a crap team?
your Capital one cup run only had 2 teams of note Liverpool and Chelsea, with Liverpool a team you really should beat and Chelsea a team in turmoil, topped off with a final that involved a league 2 team so not really shocked that you won, does that make you a crap team?

Gerhard Tremmel has a rating of 4.5 is he overrated
Only one play in your squad has a rating over 7 Michel Vorm 7.4
so your squad on terms of ratings are surprisingly average does that make your squad and players overrated?

yes we were crap last night but we came away with a point and maybe campell is not so good when running with the ball but he should'nt have been on the wing he is a goal scorer his place is in the box feeding off service that was non existant we are still a good team you a not going to turn into a bad team overnight we need to stick together and help the team get through this bad run :malky:
