Dinosaur fans of Cardiff!

Fri Mar 01, 2013 12:17 pm

Wish the dinosaur fans of Cardiff stopped worrying about what's happening off the pitch and focus on Malky and the boys! We are now red and not blue! Get over it! It's just the odd minority stopping us moving forward! Get a reality check! Untill the mad idea of tan changing our name, then that's a different matter!

Wish the red fans would come to terms with the fact that there are people who are opposed to the changes, YOU get over it

Maybe mate but I can't just turn off the way I feel about this matter. I have very passionate views about it and cannot just sweep them under the carpet, this is a football club that has been my number one love for 20 years, it's not just a trip to the cinema as Mr Tan would like to think.

Its quite Ironic that your name is "BLUEBIRDcarwyn" don't you think the name will be abit redundant next year when the bluebird is scraped! you say its the "odd minority" yet if you went to wolves last sunday you'd see it was a sea of blue so I don't think we're red not blue just yet! People will bend over infront of Tan for abit of success ,say next year if we're at the bottom of the premierleague losing week in week out doubt half of these fans will be so happy with playing in red.It was quite funny in the interview last night saying if cardiff got to the premier league we will become the third best supported team in malaysia then they went on to ask malaysians about cardiff city and their answer was "who"?.Qpr have a malaysian owner yet havn't even made an impact in malaysia. those Dinasaur fans you talk about are the life and blood of the club and will be with the club long after we experience premiership football ,if we were to go into league 1 or 2 they are the fans that will be there not like half of the red scarf wearing fans who are just in it for the success.Don't knock the fans that have supported the club all their lives.I'm only 23 and I'm assuming your a teenager but at least have some respect for these "dinasour" fans

But with out tan where would we be today? Like Wolves In the league and Pompey finically! I don't want to see Cardiff back in the dark old ages, I want to see us as a world wide brand, no debt and playing in premier league! You just have to look around the stadium at all them young kids won embraced the red and they are now the future of Cardiff city

If that's the future of Cardiff City then I 100% justified in making my decision to never go down there again mate.

I respect your opinion but for as long as tan is here we will never go back blue!
And yes I'd rather us be blue, but with out money we are screwed and that long road to where we are now is for nothing

More damage than good! what, like wearing blue scarves and shouting bluebirds supporting the team. Opposed to the red scarf brigade who wear red and chant bluebirds.

I'm sick of hearing the "red or dead" argument! He could have invested the money without ripping the life and heritage out of the club success brings money in asia not a colour! Are the Cardiff Dragons playing in red with a dragon on the badge the cardiff you fell in love with?Red or dead is a non argument and was said to scare cardiff fans in accepting the rebrand! As has been said many many times he would have to sell the club if not he stays where he is he wouldnt put us into admin to loose millions of pounds! The Kids will embrace anything the players wear we are bluebirds and always have been for me its not worth losing for a year or two in the premier league! we have lost all credability in football .If we get promoted 50 % of the media coverage will be about the rebrand, not talking how well our fantastic manager and team have done this year which is what it should be about. This season we should be enjoying but theres a divide in the fan base and you can keep on blaming the "dinasour fans" theres only one man who has caused the divide! Stop going on about "red or dead" and think about the reasons hes changed the colour and badge ,there are no reasons just one man with a massive ego who thinks he can buy and change what he wants without opposition. If you have no backbone and want to accept this and let him do this then there'll be no stopping him changing every single thing about the club

Re: Dinosaur fans of Cardiff!

Fri Mar 01, 2013 12:43 pm

Carwyn- Tan is wrong on the rebrand.

Man U, Real Madrid , Barca, Liverpool, Brazil all have one thing in common - A history of achievement.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Man city, England have another in common inconsistent mediocre history.

Cardiff City, Swansea, Stoke, Southampton, Everton , Sunderland, Newcastle the list goes on have none to talk about.

There are no rational arguments whatsoever to support the idea that turning red is somehow a 'move forward'.

The only ones who need a reality check are you red lot.

Re: Dinosaur fans of Cardiff!

Fri Mar 01, 2013 2:42 pm

The 'red lot' seem to do all the moaning on the boards but don't say anything down the ground apart from wave their free flag to try and win a season ticket.
Don't understand how going red is a move forward, if your telling me if we bought they same players and remained blue that we would be in a lower position then your mistaken. hard work has got us where we are.
we will never ever ever be anywhere near as big as man u or liverpool. our home gates in the future may not be a million miles off but most people support the most successful clubs, don't think we will be top 4 in the PL for a long time.

Trust me the hatred for the rebrand is bigger than you think. A load of my mates are against it, some banned so not able to show there disgust in the ground, yet. A load of good Cardiff lads I know are dead against it, proper old school Cardiff City fans who bleed blue. :ayatollah:

Re: Dinosaur fans of Cardiff!

Ely boy, you know me from [past and as you said all city fans i know who been supporting the
club for a longtime are totally asgainst the re-brand, i still go doown but enjoy the away game
more (most of us always have) , the home game are terrible.

the heart has been ripped out of the club, the other tuesday watching every one wearing red febbies
was embarrassing, as i said if they give black and white scarfs as freebies i am sure they would of been
picked up as well.

as much as i hate the jacks, in prem, win cup, and no re-brand ?.

Just to put the record straight as I haven't read the rest of this thread........one fan stated that.....the rest talked about Cardiff as being a big club potentially in Asia!

Nothing wrong with opinions......but when you state them as fact you get into hot water!

You obviously know alot about football!!!

Everton who have no history to talk about...Only have more top division league championships than Man City and chelsea combined! They were one of the best sides in Europe during the 80s!

they have 9 top div titles, 7 times runner up.

5 FA Cup winners, 8 runner ups, won the European cup winners cup in the 80s and would have prob won a few more european titles if english teams werent banned!

Everton

i bet a lot of these dinosaurs doent even go to games. furthermore, i bet over the years they never bought a blue kit in theyre lives. pass on the beacon to the next gen i say.

but,but the name change would be a line in the sand for me. and it wouldnt hurt to keep a bit of blue in home kit.

Sorry touched a nerve there !!!!

My point is perception, Villa won the proper European cup, but we can't forget forest who play in red. Its not about the colour, its about the club and the glamour that surrounds "the brand". I doubt the toffees sell a van load of merchandise each year in Asia. Being a premier league stalwart means nothing, its about current champions league and world cup winners

We got no chance of replicating 1% of that even in Malaysia with Malaysian owners forget about the region.

This exercise is pointless and damaging......

Lets just roll over then. Its people like that why evil and manipulative people like Hitler got their way for so long. They believed the nonsense and the stories and took it all at face value instead of delving deeper into his real motives. By the time it all kicked in it was too late, everything was in action.

If our ancestors had the same attitude as the majority of City fans we'd all be speaking German now.

Why does everyone always say it the kids wearing red to me it's mostly middle aged men that are the ones who wear red all my friends who are cardiff fans and ST holders hate the red and won't by any merchandise with that disgrace of a badge on it by the way I'm 17 on case anyone was wondering but from what I see its mostly middle aged men who bent over to tan I mean I saw two men in there 40 's scrambling and pushing each other out of the way to get as many free red scarfs as possible talk about sad

Re: Dinosaur fans of Cardiff!

For those arguing there is no benefit to red they will eventually be proved wrong, Cardiff city playing in blue as a brand has failed monumentally for years and unable to service it's growing debt, failing companies must try and move with the times and football is no different with further and further financial regulations set to come into force over next 5-10 years many clubs that haven't adapted there business models to increase revenue streams will find themselves in severe trouble and face points deductions transfer embargoes and liquidation once we hit the prem debt wiped to equity and the build up of the new brand grows we will be able to sustain ourselves year on year clubs with strong models will succeed in future an that is what tan is tryin to build, I would love us to be playing in blue but if red brings in £10-15m more revenue from the Far East in a few years time then the decision will be justified there is a bigger picture to the rebrand and if it is successful in helping us stay in the premier league and become self sustaining it will be justified, time will tell but coming from a financial background and business background I can see the reasons behind it
