If Watford are promoted to the best league in the World..

what does that say about the state of football in this country? They will have achieved it with a team made up of loan players, so the players don't actually belong to them and possibly one of the worst grounds in the league, as its had one stand closed, unfit for use! for the last 4 years! I don't want to be grudge any club achieving their dream, but surely there has to be certain standards that should be complied with?
With the huge riches that come with promotion to the Premiership, these current owners of Watford, could pull off one of the strokes of the decade. Spend very little money, not even on infrastructure and get £90-£160 million and leave Watford back in the shite! They stand to lose very little, at least in our case VT has committed huge amounts of money so far, so can't exactly walk away, when he wants. The more I think about it, the more that I feel the football league have yet again dropped a massive bollock. Will they never learn!

Stop reading the papers regarding our owners, they have been in football for 25 years and spend millions on scouting, they are very good at what they do. Yes we have to many loans in the club but its working with a good mix of our academy. How much have you spent over the last few years? How much is your debt? How much is Bellamy costing per game etc?

If you honestly think the Pozzo,s will collect the premiership money and run your totally wrong, but if they did we would not be left millions in debt. Truthfully I was worried at the start but now loving the footie we are playing.

Kind of ironic the op mentions loans and how would they cope with 100+million off the owners to survive who own another club overseas, yet we are the king of loans as a club from overseas investment atm. Well done watford i would say for a smaller club than others up there.

1- once the old stand is replaced it will be a nice little ground, better than all these boring same old same old ones, no dig.

2- cant argue with that, but we probably have 20+ other clubs within 20/30 miles who people choose to support.

I'm not knocking your club, per se, I'm knocking the system that has allowed a club with a team made up of loan players to potentially gain promotion over clubs that have ploughed huge amounts of money into their playing squads. It gets worse, as you have terrible facilities, that are just about adequate for the championship, but should be an embarassment to the best and wealthiest league in the World.

It's funny because in 2010/2011 when we bottled it we were also made up of quit a lot of loan players....

Watford have TEN players on loan in their squad!! Football league rules, are that championship clubs are allowed five at any one time. Which, in my opinion is still too much and yes some of us were moaning about having 3-5 loan players at the club. Watford have got around the rules by the fact that the players are all loaned from abroad, so under current rules are looked upon as foreign transfers, yet the fact is that they don't belong to Watford. The rules will be changed next year to stop those owners who own clubs abroad buying British clubs and loaning them players from their own clubs abroad, it would effectively turn British clubs into feeder clubs, if allowed to continue.

I know a fair few Watford fans and their good knowledgable football fans and they were always a top flight side when I was a boy.

Didnt we have a couple of under 21s (danny h20 was one I think) and then emergency loans later on JLS, Bywater etc.

Agree the system needs looking at but cant blame clubs for exploiting loopholes.

Stoke managed to get promoted with loan players and never looked back...

Look up the Pozzo family and stop reading the Mail or listening to Holloway, these are a footballing family. The corner was there long before Bazzini came alone by the way and will be completed soon, East stand depends are premiership or more numbers turning up which is fair enough.

I care as much for the England as much as you care for the Welsh team so as long as there give 100% I don't care where there from.

Our fans of course are known for savage attacks on innocent students, outside nightclubs. As the judge described:
