There is only 3 players at Celtic I'd take and none of them are Ledley. Wanyama, Izaguirre and Hooper. :ayatollah:

He made his choice, Pitty as we could have done with him in the 10-11 season as the team lacked steel. He'll stay at Celtic and I imagine his wages would be too big for a player who would be a squad player at Prem level (if we get there).

He would be a good signing for sheff wed or huddersfield .. ledley premiership quality?

Thought Joe signed a 4 year contract in July 2010 which gives him another year. :?

Always liked Joe and I for one would welcome him back but it won't be the summer not unless we pay a fee for him.

decent player who sold himself short, will massively regret move if we get promoted.

Could see him being green with envy at not being at the club 'he loves'

I honestly don't know if I'd take him.. wouldn't get in the first team.

Re: joe ledley

People seem a bit bitter. Do you forget he wasn't offered a new contract??

Re: joe ledley

Declared at the weekend that he wants a new contract at Celtic and Neil Lennon is keen to open talks.

Re: joe ledley

he plays in the Scottish league for a reason. can he shoot? no, pick out a pass other than a backwards one? no, tackle? no

Can he shoot? No, not at all!

He could tackle too and his passing wasn't bad at all. Don't you remember us turning down £7 million from Stoke for Joe?

Good player but I'm unsure whether he would get into the starting 11 now.

Re: joe ledley

Mon Feb 25, 2013 1:02 pm

Is he better than Cowie ?

Running all day - No
Tackling - No
Shooting - Probably
Passing - No
Passing - No

Re: joe ledley

Mon Feb 25, 2013 1:08 pm

At the start of the season I'd have taken him as a squad play for the championship.

If we go up tho, no chance.

Re: joe ledley

Would have him back anyday! Champions leauge player! Super Joe!

Re: joe ledley

Mon Feb 25, 2013 6:31 pm

He's far better than Cowie and would be one of our best midfielders.

Despite the Scottish league being shit, Celtic would rape the Championship if they played in it. They play in the Champions League and qualified from the group stage. They're a premier league quality side.

Bloody hell there are some deluded and bitters on this forum.

Re: joe ledley

Yes. Would work well with Ledley, but always thought Ramsey was the better out of the two

So on that basis every player who started v juventus are good enough for us if we go up?
I don't think so, I note Ledley didn't even get on the pitch in that game.

We are hopefully going up though so will want players capable of playin well in the premiership.
I'm not sure he is good enough myself.

exactly, some people forget what joe done for us, all i've seen on this thread is bitterness towards him, which he definetly doesn't deserve

They played Juventus in the knock out stages.

Ledley coped well despite the yellow at Benfica,
Superbly against Barcelona at home and away.

But, it's to no surprise someone has to twist my post to discredit what I'm saying.

I've not said EVERY player who started v Juventus is good enough? But the likes of Commons, Hooper, Wanyama, Izaguirre would more than likely walk into our squad, Forrest as well maybe.

Ledley scored twice not long ago as well for those saying he can't shoot/score

He'd be a good solid midfielder for us and I think would do a very good job and be a regular for the side.

Not twisting your words, you said Celtic would rape the championship as a reason for Ledley therefore being good enough when IMO that has no relevance at all unless you think the entire team is good enough over ours.

If we go up I think we will be looking at a lot better than Ledley.
If we didn't I wouldn't mind a small bid for him.

I've read some rubbish on this forum but this takes the biscuit! Celtic raping the Championship? Don't you remember what happened to Middlesbrough under Strachen when he signed the best of the SPL? They really raped the Championship with Stephen McManus marshalling his defence to clean sheets and Scott McDonald still banging the goals in for fun at the other end. Oh wait, that didn't happen did it, Strachen got sacked! How did Kris Boyd do at Championship level? Yes, Celtic would really rape the Championship, it is a huge drop down from the SPL as that Middlesbrough team of the best SPL players showed after all!

Ledley wouldn't get into our team now, so he is nowhere near good enough for the Premiership I'm afraid. A shame because he could have been a decent Premiership player, but he decided to show a lack of ambition and play at a poorer level which has made his career decline. Ledley will never get back to the player he was with us now. In his younger days he was talked of in the same bracket as Bale and Ramsey potential wise. Now he struggles to get into the Wales team altogether. Such a shame he decided to take the first decent salary he was offered to waste his career instead of continuing to develop and improve further as a footballer.

Did I really just read that Cowie was better than Ledley

Re: joe ledley

Ledley did alot for us and I for one was gutted when he left. People forget the fact that he was playing through injury in his last season despited needing surgery. He would be a good signing for us now definetly as a squad player and Im sure he could do a decent job if needed in the prem.

Not for me  The way he left has made him a non-entity in my eyes (a bit like Gunter's actions) and not worth even a mention as a future player for OUR club (obviously not HIS if he could do what he did in the way that it was done)

Remember, we NEEDED the money we COULD have got for him and he simply looked after No.1 in the most disrespectful and unappreciative way :(

Besides that, he is about to be given a new contract in the One-Team League and wouldn't make Malky's 'List' anyway IMHO :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Because he signed players from all different teams? Celtic now, as they are, would walk this league under Lennon with their current squad?

And Ledley would get into our team very easily. He'd easily get in over Noone, Cowie, Conway. Maybe he'd have stiff competition with Gunnar, but he'd easily slot in as he's a quality player. He's shown that in the Champ League. Ramsey isn't great now, his leg break halted his career and he's only just getting back into a position he can improve from.

He wasn't offered a new contract, so why wouldn't he accept a decent salary at a big club with European prospects?

Jesus Christ, bitters galore!
