Is it because people have heard of the place but don't know where it is?

Paxman wrote:The real reason? Or the reason we are urged to say?
The real reason is, after years of fans from this club genuinely believing Cardiff are bigger than Swansea - it's now not as clear and they are beginning to doubt their own stance with Swansea about to win a major trophy, which will bring European football and have already cemented themselves at a top half/ mid table premiership side. This has forced some people to lash out and try to belittle them to cling on to any superiority they feel they have left, although its a pretty poor effort. This is manifested with the notion that "They have poor support" - again we all know they don't really which is why some decide to lie about it. A prime example being taking 287 or something to Liverpool when in fact the stadium was a sell out.
They are doing a cracking job and instead of trying and failing to belittle them maybe we should all concentrate on getting our own house in order as currently we are wearing red to our home games and insulting anyone who wishes to wear blue.
Hope my answer wasn't too honest, although I suspect it was. Sue me.

1) They both try to play a similar style of football.
2) They both have over performed for their size and budgets.
3) They are both in areas more traditionally associated with rugby.
4) They both have limited appeal and so small potential fan bases.
5) They are both neighboured by much bigger cities.
6) They both attract rugby and football fabs in good times and sing football and rugby songs.
I think you'd all agree that is quite a lot of similarities.

For proof look at all the threads above and below from gypos trying to convince us and themselves. (some in disguise, some written by six year olds.)

No they don't.
2) They both have over performed for their size and budgets.
What the hell is that supposed to mean? Do you know their budget then? Their income last year was £64 million.
3) They are both in areas more traditionally associated with rugby.
like us with Newport and e blues on our doorsteps you mean?
4) They both have limited appeal and so small potential fan bases.
According to whom? They have sold out every home league game since the latter part of the 09/10 season. You seem to be basing these assumptions on nothing.
5) They are both neighboured by much bigger cities.
As are every club outside London
6) They both attract rugby and football fabs in good times and sing football and rugby sings.
what rubbish you are spouting. If my above post needed anything to back it up then this post exudes the proof
I think you'd all agree that is quite a lot of similarities.

You could also make a case for calling us the welshbarca play the same style, fans from both clubs have a big say in the running of both clubs, you can make a case to compare any club to any other club, who could we compare cardiff too.
