SCARFGATE...WHY DIDN'T YOU LISTEN

Wed Feb 20, 2013 7:44 am

After last nights scarfgate debacle I awake to people moaning about red 9 months after it was announced and 6 months into the season, well I am sorry to say that many of us boycotted the club because we actually seen this coming and our eyes were and still are wide open.Myself and others were shot down for making a stand and now people are crying over phase 2 of the rebrand....scarfgate,next as we constantly banged on about will be the seats followed by the complete removal of the bluebird and our nickname.
I've not been to a single game this season as promised I am not proud of it but if everyone boycotted just the first home game a message would have been sent out and scarfgate may have never happened.
It's too late to cry over it now as the decision wasn't made by Tan but by you because you accepted and didn't even question his motives. Those who say the club was unrecognizable last night have been blinded by the red light as the club was unrecognizable the moment the red was worn but it's not too late to voice your opinion in fact last night should be the trigger to show the club that the destruction of our heritage is not acceptable and now is your chance. If you do nothing now then whatever happens you will be responsible for it.Other fans have called us spineless and the jacks constantly take the piss and now you can do something about it.
For 35 years I sang those famous words"please don't take my Cardiff away",now is your chance to stop that happening.

I suggest you sing "Please don't take my Bluebird away" on Sunday as loud as you can which would be a good start while wearing all blue.

He won't listen anyway. He is a dictating knob. He's footballs Stalin. He wants to wipe out the blue race and breed his own red race he believes is lucky and superior.

They will soon see Tan for what he is but it will be too late by then.

The propaganda machine of Cardiff City's dictatorship is well and truly underway and the majority have jumped on the hype train. Lions led by donkeys springs to mind.

Unfortunately true.
We are now a red club without a doubt.
Last night was a vote, and it was overwhelming.

Last night the writing was on the wall.

The giveaway was a cheap scarf with a red bluebird. Tan has the blessing off the fans, not real Cardiff City fans but fans who will remain at the club while it is successful. Sadly we have become a joke.

My 2 cents as a non-Cardiff fan. There've been a large proportion of posters on here taking an anti-red stance, but it seems to me you're massively outnumbered by the casual Charlies who don't use the message board.

That said, there have also been too many on here saying that they're against it but not doing anything to publicly state their opinion. Cba to look for it again, but it was pretty much summed up by a post in another thread along the lines of "I'm fed up with Tan and his red agenda, I'm not going to renew my ST after the next time I renew it". Having your cake and eating it much? :?

Sorry if the above sounds too preachy, been up all night so I'm too tired to put much thought into my phrasing.

Yep thats what it was steve and it proves these message boards are merely a small number of fans opinions compared to what i seen lastnight with my own eyes, so in future if anyone posts such things like " The negativity online will get to the players" i and many others will be fast to shoot them down with a reply like "Stop talking shit its just a few people posting on the forums"

It's true though. Our club is being pillaged by a man with an insane vision trying to force his ideology on fans. I'm compiling a list of all the pro rebrand lovers anyway and if shit does hit the fan and we end up in a lower league we'll see which of them stick around. If not they'll get named and shamed.

I am not pro red, but you can keep my name if you like. :laughing6:
Been supporting the club for years, but I'm sticking around, it's what a fan does in my opinion.
Through thick, thin and indifferent.

When I walked up the steps last night to a sea of red, my heart sank.

Naming and shaming is not the answer mate, how can you shame a false identity they will come back as another alias. Those who are pro red will always be pro red it's more about convincing the reluctant reds to be a bit stronger and not alienating individuals. We all want the same thing which is a successful club the difference is we want it in blue with the bluebird as our emblem it's very simple.

I don't think any Cardiff fan is "pro-red". I think the term "reluctant-red" is more fitting. No Cardiff fan worth their salt is happy that City have changed from blue to red.

Exactly! I used to sing at Ninian Park "I'm Cardiff till I die", not "I'm Cardiff unless we turn red".
Cardiff City is in my blood, just like a disease. There's no cure for this disease though.
Nobody is asking anybody to love Vincent Tan, or the rebrand, but we should all be uniting as fans of Cardiff City Football Club, and getting behind Malkay and the boys as the season draws to a conclusion :ayatollah:

Make me shut up you spent *****. I am an admin on there due to all the arguing that took place over the summer. Being banned from CCMB didn't help either.

I am hardly on there now and go on there mainly to converse with good people which is none of your business anyway.

My stance is clear and has been since this stupid scarf idea was announced and I knew it'd split the fan base again even before last night. Before that as Zabier said I was disillusioned. Sorry for being different to you. Maybe you can bring out a book on how to be the perfect fan. Please do enlighten us oh wise one.
