and once again he did this against Brighton tonight.
I personally feel he will never make it in the Premier League and lets be honest, if he really was that good, he would not still be us, a premier club would of had him every time he shines for us.
Your Honest opinions on him over a season?
Tue Feb 19, 2013 10:46 pm
He must hate cold weather, its the only thing that makes sense.

Malkys not playing to his strengths. NQAT. Looks frustrated. Still some of his deliveries tonight were class.
Far worse on show than him tonight. Smith and Campbell were poor tonight.

When did he last score too? He drifts most seasons...shame

He was winning games on his own before Christmas but hasn't had any impact on anything in 2013.
Tue Feb 19, 2013 10:54 pm
He's not looked comfortable for a while now.
Don't like the fact he is playing the old McPhail role, way too deep.
Having said that nobody is making runs up front for him, so he's just lingering on the ball for far too long then playing silly triangles.
He is looking way short on confidence with his free kicks, closer to 'back passes' than shots.
Certainly not Premier League at this moment in time.
I'd have taken him off tonight and put Bellamy in there to hurry things along and brought on Mason up front

He has had one full good season that was when he finished top scorer, the other seasons he finds a bit of form and then goes quiet for Gigantic parts of the season.
I dunno maybe he wants a rest? He never actually gets one

I don't understand how he was given man of the match tonight ???
Tue Feb 19, 2013 10:58 pm
Last scored a penalty against Watford in October !

Are you serious? I didn't realise that.
Staggering decision

If the Fulham bid in January was true we should have accepted it, we will never have an opportunity like that again, he's getting old now and his play is restricted. I don't understand Malky's stubborness when it comes to this, we have a big squad with Mcphail/Kim as creative central midfielders yet he sticks with the Whittingham who hasn't scored since October and I can't remember the last time he set up a goal. His free kicks are tame, straight into the wall and his corners either fail to beat the first man or go over everyone completely
Tue Feb 19, 2013 11:03 pm
This "Quarterback" role he seems to have is not suiting him.
Can't play a killer through ball when he's stood in the centre circle with two banks of four in front of him and minimal movement from the front players.
Short on confidence clearly and confidence has always been central to Whitt's performances.
Don't know what's happened to his set pieces. Corners either don't beat the first man or go far too deep and he's not been a threat from free kicks for months now.
I think he's played every minute of every game this season.
Perhaps he needs to have a rest.
Tue Feb 19, 2013 11:03 pm
Over exaggeration from everybody or what??
One of the 3 players to come out of tonight with any credibility. As a playmaker you don't have to play killer passes all the time, just shift the ball around nicely and keep possession. He does a good job at that and playing in the Prem would suit him more IMO, a lot like Leon Britton.
Although he should be playing a little higher up

To be fair to him, he wasn't the only one that didn't really turn up.... I thought Connolly was poor tonight, and I think a McNaughton recall is a must there, otherwise just how shit does a player have to be before the replacements get a look in?
Too many people took a bit of a night off in my opinion, although we did have shots, and at 1-0 i believed we could sneak back in, but the team seemed way off the pace tonight, and the second you could see coming a mile off.
very bad day at the office, but still, least some people have a souvenir of the result, sad to see a few city fans at loggerheads over the "throwing" of a red scarf in the concourse below the canton at the end.... i get that it was a frustrating night, but to see fans bickering like that was sad.
Horrible night tonight to be fair, perhaps the shittest of the season I'd say, I heard a lot of people using the "we're gonna bottle it again" and I can also understand their nervousness, we still have a bit of a cushion at the moment, and Wolves is a tough place to go, but they are beatable at the moment.
All I can say.... is Don't panic..... well not yet anyway.

It dont make sense. In the game Malky played him in the right position he scored a hat trick.

was that what the scuffle was about at the main exit by 108? Saw some old guy being held back by stewards from a young lady?
Tue Feb 19, 2013 11:19 pm
Yes, she was with the guy who was originally arguing, from what I could tell
the old guy was kicking off that he'd supported city for X years, and then launched his blue scarf at the guy...
Tue Feb 19, 2013 11:24 pm
All i heard was the woman screaming "i'm a lady" and then the old guy saying " i'm an old fucker". lol

season after season he goes missing. cant put my finger on it.
he seems to have adapted a joe allen roll, cant remeber the last time he put a ball forward and slotted someone in on goal.

Here we go, once again. One defeat and these sorts of posts appear.
Tue Feb 19, 2013 11:36 pm
Whittingham is played out of position he is completely wasted as holding midfielder, some times tonight he was practically a centre back. This a player who scored 25 goals in a season from playing in a more advanced role , its 1 thing I think Malky is getting completely wrong.
Tue Feb 19, 2013 11:40 pm
I fail to see how Whitts goes missing when all our play goes through him at some point. For me our wide men are not delivering, when was the last time noone beat a fullback? A cross put in that created a goal? And what about our shooting? How many goals have we scored from outside the box? How often did gunnarsson give the ball away tonight? And Connolly too?
Our problems are throughout the team at the moment, more worrying than Whitts. His free kicks have turned to rats shit though.
Tue Feb 19, 2013 11:41 pm
a whittingham corner can't beat the first man, we should at least put a man on the near post to counter that as it seems to happen a lot.... didn't Jay Bothroyd used to lurk around that area? perhaps i imagined that, someone to at least win a flick on!

He was playing center half! How many times was he last man?
Didnt want over halfway. Is it malkies new way of playing from
The back because it seems thats whitts role..
Tue Feb 19, 2013 11:55 pm
He plays way too deep. Frustrating
Wed Feb 20, 2013 12:03 am
IMO a quality player, great on the ball but plays best when the team are playing well. Smith had a bad game, noone looked good at the start but was getting a bollocking off bellamy for making some poor decisions, gunnarrsson wasnt as dominant as previous games and Connolly didnt look confident on the ball. I thought Taylor was great tonight and Helguson should have been brought on earlier because he was winning headers as soon as he came on.
Anyone notice the awful handball by Brighton? It was a floor rolling stop worthy of any goalkeeper. Just wasnt our night.. Credit to Brighton for soaking up the pressure and f*cking us on the break
