City Vs Brighton Predictions/match thread

Mon Feb 18, 2013 10:40 am

League leaders Cardiff City welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to the Cardiff City Stadium in the Championship on Tuesday.

Malky Mackay is unlikely to make too many changes to the side that beat Bristol City 2-1 yesterday.

Brighton have just two wins from their last six matches, but are on the verge of breaking into the playoff places.

Gus Poyet will be without Will Hoskins, who sustained a knee ligament injury during the 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday, and will miss the rest of the season.

Should be a much tougher game than Saturday.

They smashed us at home last year and have dangerous players with the likes of Buckley and Mackail-Smith.

Can see Nooney having a big game against his old club though and we're looking very strong.

2-1 City :ayatollah:

Would be quite happy with a draw . Brighton will be tough and refreshed after a weekend off. Much will depend how our players are after the weekend. Can Campbell repeat his heroics, will Noone be charged up against his old club.
1-1for me.

Just looked at the Brighton forum and was reminded over their lack attacking options so it is unlikely that they will score more than one goal . Still think we may struggle tomorrow and expect a draw, but perhaps, hopefully, yet again the team will dumbfound me.

Bristol city, they was really poor polo and i dont see brighton getting a hammering if your going off our last game as that game was the most chances we have mustered up for about two months in a single game if you go off stats :malky:

Ben Turner looks set for a return to the Cardiff line-up after missing the last two games with an ankle problem.

Ben Nugent, who picked up a dead leg in Saturday's win over Bristol City, looks likely to step aside.

Brighton could have skipper Gordon Greer back after missing three matches with a hamstring injury.

Ashley Barnes is suspended and fellow striker Will Hoskins is out with a knee injury suffered against Blackburn but the Bluebirds have no other worries.

Cardiff City

• Cardiff are flying high, eight points clear at the top of the table and on a nine-match unbeaten league run of seven wins and two draws. Peterborough is the only club to have denied them at least a point in 16 outings.

• Three points would see the Bluebirds maintaining their 100% home record against the top 17 clubs, and provide manager Malky Mackay the present he will be looking for on his 41st birthday.

• Defender Andrew Taylor is anticipating his 250th start for the club.

Brighton & Hove Albion

• Brighton lie immediately below the play-off places, but four points adrift after only one win in six league and cup matches.

• Had the Seagulls converted their 13 draws into wins, they would have been seven points clear at the top of the table.

• Gus Poyet's charges have not lost a league game in which they have opened the scoring this term, and have not won one in which the opposition has scored first.

Vicente is class. He walks past players like a ghost. You can see that he's to good for this division and makes players ours as well look like conference players.

Think I'll stay in this thread as more mature posters here but when we're winning then I'm big and ugly enough to take the flack. :malky:
