The South Wales derby

Sun Feb 10, 2013 3:52 pm

So lets discuss this.

So say we go up! How big will this game be? Will it be a lunch time kick off live on sky? Will it be a Sunday?

The media will be all over it!!

Some loon is bound to run on the pitch!!!

Should finally wake the Ccs up

Got to be honest though as it stands at the moment they will beat us IMO.

They'd run rings around us lets be honest...

Re: The South Wales derby

Anything can happen in a derby game.

Re: The South Wales derby

Sun Feb 10, 2013 5:42 pm

Well, of course they would......they're a Premier League team and we're a champions team (at the moment).

I'd say it would be huge for us......but not huge for the premier league yet. Hopefully a good ten years of South Wales Derby games will establish it.

What would you list as the big derby games?
Man U v Liverpool
Liverpool v Everton
Sunderland v Newcastle
Man U v Man City
Loads of over rated London derbies

Definitely all City fans will be looking for this fixture when they're announced. Can't wait.

Re: The South Wales derby

Sun Feb 10, 2013 5:57 pm

it will be big from the point of view that it will be the first time that two clubs from either wales or the west country have ever met in the top division.

Re: The South Wales derby

Sun Feb 10, 2013 6:01 pm

There will be just as much hype around it as any other derby if it's on tv, they just want more viewers.

Disagree. They might be better than us but they do worst against the really hard working teams. The gap between the prem and champ is not as wide as the arrogant west walians think.

Re: The South Wales derby

Sun Feb 10, 2013 6:15 pm

an honest question fellas do you think your style of play will see you ok in the prem ? i read quite a lot n here about "winning ugly" and not the best display but we got the job done , you don't seem that happy with your style but the results are there so everything seems ok
do you think malky has the style to change things or are you just going to be hard working battlers such as stoke

God knows! At times we knock the ball about well and have some good technical players. Maybe if we go up we might be able to play better football. We certainly aren't a stoke and play limited long ball. The football under jones was at times breathtaking but we had no steel or backbone. Give me a team of triers over prime donnas any day

definitely when we went up we didn't really change that much ,obviously laudrup has brought some cracking players in this season but we never looked like going down in our first season , a massive summer ahead for cardiff and you fans looking at sky sports news and every shitty rumour site going

Hello twaddle
Mmm all can say is we have the players to play passing football, champ is not the same as premier in way games are played! So honest answer we need couple more players and we may be ok time will tell.
I also think because we dont win big, people dont see how good we are at restricting teams attempts at goal. Need to be good all round to do that.

We are not there yet and having experienced 32 years of frustration and minor success I will not believe we are up until we are mathematically secure and even then I half expect a points deduction or some complication

I was thinking this. There will probably be some financial f**k up somewhere along the line where we get deducted points or some rule where it's not right to have 2 welsh teams in the prem!! Or something like match fixing or 3rd party ownership

You clearly don't know us well enough! Any other team 11 clear with 2 thirds gone is up but I'm not counting chickens. I'm praying that we finish top and Bournemouth and Northampton do same as 2500 quid would be a nice way to celebrate

It'll be what it'll be,Gareth. The thought of your club having what we have doesn't excite me no, but im sure i'll get used to it.Perhaps the people who say it'll be good for welsh football are right and it will be.But at this moment in time and as a football fan i couldn't think of anything worse.

Good honest answer. I hope that you lot go on a 12 game losing run and get relegated. I know it won't happen and you are well placed in terms of position and squad. One day the bubble will burst and I will milk it big time.

Probably need to set the alarm clocks as I am sure SW Police and sky wouldn't mind an 11:00 Sunday kick off both both games.

Not much risk nowadays so there's no reason not to make it a normal 3 or 4 o'clock ko on a Sunday.

I'd love to play you on a 6 nations weekend. The nations media would not know what to do.
