nothing its basic scaremongering from those anti-immigration types.
this leaflet explains our benefit system and who is entitled for what, it isnt just given to immigrants its given to British citizens who return to this country from working abroad and explains how their benefits like JSA can be effected because they have worked abroad or if they havent kept up with NI contributions, but because it has an Indian family on the front cover and the title, people automatically assume its giving advice on how immigrants can sponge off our country

Just out of of interest, Let's say if all 3 were born in Wales - would you still have the same opinion?

Whether they are entitled to benefits or not it should not be on a leaflet basically advertising it as if it is some sort of way of life.

'Come to Britain and better your life' would have been more appropriate.

I can assure you now if I was an immigrant and saw that leaflet I'd be in the back of a French truck before Cardiff got promoted.

Ben I sought of agree with you.

If you lost your job tomorrow you would receive Jobs Seekers Allowance provided your unemployment was not your own fault.

However, that is only £60 odd a week. If you have savings or own a property then you would get no further help until those assets were depleted to around £6000. The trouble is most people who arrive here as immigrants/asylum seekers have no assets when they arrive and therefore are entitled to more help than you would be (assuming you do have assets)

Also they have a much better funded support unit. Nearly every town has an immigration advice centre and its ‘paid’ staff know every benefit which is available and tailor those who go there so that they fit the criteria to receive the maximum amount of benefit.

In contrast 'British' people only have Citizen's Advice Centres (which anyone can use unlike the immigration advice centres) and they are staffed by unpaid volunteers who might not know the full details of the benefit system and even if they are up to speed they will only hand out leaflets on how to claim benefits without actually explaining the process or entitlement.

So it is true that immigrants are not entitled to more benefits than indigenous British Citizens, but they do have a far better support system which helps them claim the money that’s available.

Personally I think that is a shocking state of affairs and whilst the benefits system needs a complete overhaul, so does this myriad of immigration centres across the country which is costing all of us billions of pounds.

There is something in that, it is also the reason why Labour employed so many in the public sector. But the answer is not to ruin peoples lives. We should be helping people like Ben's friend because he has paid into the system.

We shouldn't be given billions out to immigrants (other likely Labour voters BTW) and that is what gets peoples backs up.

i dont think the implication is they are u.k residents do you,the title of the booklet is a bit of a give away,maybe the government is being clever by putting an asian family on the cover,as anybody that do not agree with this MUST be a racist....my view....whatever colour of skin,if they come here they get nothing...simples

The benefits culture is flawed because of the MINORITY that abuse it. I'm talking foreigners, British, black, white, whoever. I know people who are genuinely struggling and having to do all these tests to prove they are not fit for work when they clearly cannot work yet those who know the tricks are getting away with stealing our money.

In recent times I have been very tempted to start ratting out those that I know are taking the piss due to the struggle I've seen genuine sufferers have to go through. I'm not ashamed to say it. Too many honest people are suffering now due to the laziness and pure cuntishness of certain individuals who are having a free ride.

I didn't mention anything about race, I listed types of people who also gets a lot more benefits than the rest of us

Look in my opinion there are way way way way too many people in this country who shouldn't be here, and plenty of them are taxi drivers or hang around city and Albany road touting for work, from Albania, Romania and Poland. I wish these people could find decent employment in there own country and leave us to get on with it over here.
