Anyone else stunned/shocked, some honesty please

Anyone else stunned/shocked, some honesty please that we are not selling out for our home games?

Yes I am going on about our crowds for home games, we only hold 26,680 and weve been getting 22,000 crowds, yet Malky's team have been breaking all records this season and were months away from the Premier League, that we have not been to for 51 years. Surely but surely our home ends should be jammed packed every game?

i feel we should 100% be selling out, yes times are hard but next year if we are promoted the prices will be higher, will the attendances be lower next year then? will the hell

they should be, and will probably end up being sold out tbh! there's still another week and half til the next home game, and people only usually buy tickets til the last minute as they know whether they'll be able to go!

The crowds will be decent from here on in. We should get around 24,000 for Bristol with them selling out, we still have 10 days of tickets sales to come for that. Leicester will definitely be a sell it, as will some other games that
Month, like Forest and Bolton.

The great Cardiff sporting public is waiting for Prem League next season.

Really not surprised that we have not sold out in the current economical conditions but must admit I think the crowds could have been higher thou not sell outs

Re: Anyone else stunned/shocked, some honesty please

We would have sold out.

Perhaps we are not as big a club as we think we are?, never mind thought all the plastics will bump up the attendances next season if we get promoted.

makes you wonder about the sleeping giant tag we have. surely if we were that we would be selling out every home game leading up to the end of the season with the position we are in. people getting the buzz of where we are heading next season.

if we are not selling out now do you think we will be selling out against wigan stoke and the like.

also if we stay up should we expand straight away knowing we would only sell out the big games but still get the same 22000 for the likes of wigan, stoke etc

There is no doubt we will sell out in games in April and maybe hit 25,000 for March.

Maybe more. There are less tickets left than there were 2 days before the Millwall game. There are only about 100 left for the Ninian Stand, and about 100-150 per block for the canton, with a few more in the corner.

So given there were 24,200 at the Milwall game and there will be 1000+ more away fans at the Bristol game then I would expect over 25k.

I know most clubs have lower attendances this season but still cant think why we are having bad crowds.
Maybe costs? , to many false dawns? No smoking and prices of food and beer?

Yep

If the club had sold more/advertised (better) half season tickets we'd have a much fuller stadium.

I know at least 3 people that would have got half season tickets if they'd realised the cutoff point was so early.

Money issues and people, like myself, dont know when they're working as some of our jobs are rota based.

One way to look at it, at least its filled with ppl who want to be there. Would u rather that extra few thousand jst there for the glory?

I do agree tho and suprised not full as weve had bigger crowds in recent times with worse teams

Shocked at our home support, not as big as I always thought we were, also I always knew our away support used to be massive, unfortunately know longer it would seem, as we seems to be getting better on the pitch and our league position increases, our away support decreases, but I don't know why, should,nt our home and our away support be getting bigger ?strange ! :ayatollah: :old: :ayatollah:

Not really annis...although I will be quite miffed if we don't sell out most if not all of our home games from here on.

In all the years I have supported the bluebirds I am shocked we are not selling out at home games. When i think of the support we took to Admire Wacker /standard Leige etc when we were in the lower leagues. Our support at the moment beggers belief. :o :o :o

Just shows we are not the big club people claim we are, we can not sell home games out or away ends out these days, plus there was a supposed 15k half season ticket holders waiting in the wings three weeks ago ready to snap these half season tickets up thats what we was told fromt he club, now there saying we will take 7-10days to sell 1k or 2k ST for next season to anyone who wants one.

Re: Anyone else stunned/shocked, some honesty please

Not really. There are large numbers of people out there who arent interested. Time was, the only way of watching live football was by going to watch your local team. We now have a whole generation who have grown up with wall to wall live football on Sky, and think that is the only way to experience it, and won't get their backsides off the settee.

Luckily, we know better!

For some its money, some work weekends plus a lot on banning orders so friends might not go. then we lost a few to the rebrand
some might not take a chance on a match day ticket, and some will only watch when we are top of the pile.

But i dont get it with our catchment area. maybe too many years at the bottom, with too many fathers passing on their false passion for liverpool, man utd etc

Its a mystery

We should be selling out every home game without a doubt. 10 points clear at the top of the championship with a higher points total than the likes of Newcastle and QPR achieved at this same point in recent years. The team are flying and deserve to be playing in front of full houses every home game! I wonder how many people will be complaining next season if hopefully we make the premier league and they can't get tickets :o

Re: Anyone else stunned/shocked, some honesty please

Totally agree, although the costs affect a lot. This is reflected throughout the leagues, Villa against man utd had to lower prices to £25.... Still couldn't sell out. Our annual end of season flop has lessened the buzz perhaps. I can't help but feel people are still waiting for this to happen..

Good stuff :ayatollah:

Shame they don't show how many are left in each block anymore. I used to enjoy adding them up :geek:

I think a huge amount of fans only turned up in the crap days just for a laugh a scrap or a mad day out and football wasn't that important now times have changed and the football is the biggest part of the club lot's of those fans don't attend..

Re: Anyone else stunned/shocked, some honesty please

Not really, from 1970 to 2000 we managed to lose two generations of fans caused by selling any assets we had and subsequently languishing in the bottom divisions.Since 2003 we have steadily recruited new fans by virtue of cup finals and flirting with the playoffs, yet despite having a reputation as bottlers, unfairly,we have managed to increase our attendances to 22-24 thousand, which is an increase of 20 thousand in 15 years, and when we get promoted this season will leave very few seats left to sell.Historically, sellouts usually occur near the end of a successful season, check average attendances in "83,"93 and 2003. :ayatollah: :malky:
