Yes you're right, joe wrote for the echo, out spoken but a very good football man, the club banned him once for laying into the team, he then went on to write for one of the nationals.

Yes, i remember some of them, no holding back, saying how it was,,,whether good, or usually bad in those days.

Reading this just reminded me of Ken Woodward who was Karl Woodward's father, I worked with him when I was an apprentice donkey's years ago, what a character.
