NEXT SIX GAMES

Sun Jan 13, 2013 10:54 am

Firstly we have 3 away games that are followed by 3 home games.

Strange sequence which has come about by our loss against Macclesfield and resulted in Leicester game being moved.

Our three away games are all played on Saturday's and spread over 4 weeks.

But our three home games are played over 7 days.

How many points will we achieve over these games and will we still have a gap over the teams behind us ?

Sat 19/01/13 Blackpool away Draw
Sat 02/02/13 Leeds away Win
Sat 09/02/13 Huddersfield away Draw
Tues 12/02/13 Leicester home Win
Sat 16/02/13 Bristol City home Win
Tues 19/02/13 Brighton home Draw

My predictions, what are yours ?

12 points from that would be a tidy return (2 points per game average will deliver the title) but I think it's vital we beet Leicester as they are looking Dangerous at the moment.

What interests me about these fixtures is that 5 of the 6 games come after the transfer window has closed. So if we do actually do some business this January I fancy us to get a 12+ points from these games.

Having said that which of these clubs are going to be busy in this transfer window, Leicester and Leeds have money to spend and of course Huddersfield still have the Rhodes money to spend. Will we be facing the same teams after the window closes or will we be facing stronger opponents.

MM must invest and soon to give us fresh impetus if for no other reason than to keep pace, with Leicester at the very least.

Why do some people think we are due a bad run. Okay historically we always have at least 2 or 3 bad runs in a season. This season is different in fact it's the opposite, when we do lose a game or have not performed well we have tended to go on a good run. We didn't play well yesterday so I am expecting us to win the next 6 games.
I can hope can't I.

Re: NEXT SIX GAMES

I'm worried we are repeating last years dip, following a 3-1 home win against reading we rested the first team for the cup game against west brom and then took only 16 points from 15 games. That run started with a 0-0 draw and we got that one yesterday. If we do repeat last years dip we should get 7 points from the next 6 and 6 points from the 6 after that. Last season the players looked tired and devoid of ideas and malky started making some strange selection decisions. I hope we don't start seeing the same thing this year.

11 points from 18. if I'm right. leaving us on 68 points and still top by some margin.

If you are right 12 points and even better. :)

Anything better and we can book the open-top bus :ayatollah:

Think what people forget is we have 19 games left not 6, for every win we get leicester will have to match it same for borough ect and they still have to win 4 more games than us by end season to overtake us.

10 wins means they need 15 wins out 19 games hard to do! Not including draws may get

Plus its not just Leicester who have to catch us up. Someone else has to as well and Hull looked awful yesterday. Boro play Leicester on Friday night - could be interesting.

At moment its 3rd place that we need look at. And even if leicester or who ever goes on run it wont matter as long as we pick up points/wins. Dont think people on here realise what strong position we are in! Despite perfomances

Re: NEXT SIX GAMES

All I'd change is Huddersfield to a win. I think we'll beat 'em :ayatollah:

Re: NEXT SIX GAMES

Sun Jan 13, 2013 1:06 pm

These next 6 games will define our season. At best we will be able to become cocky and start celebrating going up automatically even with so many games left. At worst we will find ourselves fighting with at lest 5 teams for the 2 auto places. If my predictions come true we can start getting cocky.

The most important game will be against Leicester. If we can stop them beating us they will struggle to catch us. The other teams chasing are struggling now so I can se them dropping a few points. The inform teams like Watford are too far behind us. Yep these next 6 games will tell us a lot.

Sat 19/01/13 Blackpool away win
Sat 02/02/13 Leeds away draw

14 points from 18

The reason I have put a win against Leicester is because we normally do very well against the top teams.
I really believe we will go unbeaten in the next 6 games. If we get 14 points from next 6 games then start booking the open top bus.
