' DJ LOOKING TO DO BUSINESS WITH CARDIFF CITY '

Wed Jan 09, 2013 7:48 pm

Ok as I have already told you City are in talks with another Championship club for a full back and that City will make an offer for Marvin Sordell. When Malky wants a player he does not give up easily, just like he didn't give up on Noone last summer after coming close to signing him in January last year.

But who will be going out, I think it is safe to say that Earnie won't be around the training ground for very long before saying his goodbyes and as I have already suggested I believe Joe Ralls will go out on loan as well.

Filip Kiss is a player attracting interest also and there are a couple of clubs who have expressed an interest in wanting to sign Kiss on loan. But will Malky want him to go out on loan ?

Dave Jones is also sniffing around to see what business we do, as I know he is keen on trying to get one of our players to aid his Sheffield Wednesday team's relegation battle.

Let's see what materialises over the next few days.

Great news that Whittingham is fit for Saturday because on New Years Eve I had a text to say he was out for up to a month, I am glad he only missed the one league game against Birmingham.

It really does depend on whether we get one of our targets Annis, if we do then it seems likely DJ will get his man.

Maybe Ralls on loan to wednesday could be good for him? put him in the thick of things, game time, experience the other end of the table ready for our fight for survival next year in the prem! :D

or to put one in the mix, what about McNaughton going to play for Dave?

I was also thinking Mcnaughton. However, I think malky not only wants to add a full back to add quality but to also add further depth. Although, if we sign a right back we would then have the new signing and connolly who could both play there and gunnarson if need be. Could be interesting. Id keep Mcnaughton if it were up to me though as he can play anywhere across the back 4 and would be good back up if we went up.

Paul, Malky will let anyone have Earnie if they will pay half his £13,000 a week basic wages, I am on about quite a big name at the City. Hmm

McNaughton has to be, doesn't know if hes offered a new contract, connely playing well and right back and we are in the hunt for a new defender also, ticks all the boxes

I've been thinking Kev may not figure in Malky's long term plans for a while now.

If we get the fullback we are bidding for we will let McNaughton go, thats why it 'depends on whether or not we get our targets'. Hopefully I am wrong.

Mason would be my guess. All depending if we get sordell

Re: ' DJ LOOKING TO DO BUSINESS WITH CARDIFF CITY '

DJ will be looking at players that were his favourites and knows well, I would guess McPhail and McNaughton.

McPhail must have one eye on coaching. I would assume he would like that with us or at least with a manager he knew well like DJ. If we get another right back I do not think we would need McNaughton as Connolly would cover. McNaughton also has no contract on the table and has to think of the future. shame though.

It would depend on who:

Earnie, Kev (if we had cover and could call him back), McPhail then fine.

But Ralls? Kiss? We want these players to develop and become better. In all his time here who did Jones develop? Ledley and that's it. He just gets finished products and gets out on the golf course.

Also would we deal with him? Given he has issues with the board.

I was just talking about this to my dad that if we got a right back in we'd probably see Super Kev go to Wednesday.

Will be a great shame but probably for the best. He fits better into Dave Jones' system. And better we get a fee now than let him go for free in the summer.

Hope it's not Joe Mason, I think we need to keep him in the squad.

Would be stupid to let Joey go, he's vital for us. Kiss and Ralls out on loan I guess, although that's a bit risky not having the biggest squad. Earnie will probably go

McNaughton.

If we get another right back as cover, wouldn't mind Kev going. Been a good servant but Connolly is better.

McNaughton.

Conway, tried to buy him the year he left.

Kev wants to play, that's obvious, but should we let him go? Just when many of us had written him off, he plays a blinder against Palace, and Zaha in particular. We still need cover in defence, and Kev can play anywhere in the back four. Lappin played well in Brum, but he's gone.
