I for one will not be throwing punches in town. Jail kind of loses its appeal as
you get older. Even our 'younger' lot dont get involved anymore, cos the police
have smashed them too.

All thats left is 'fashion hooligans' now. Youngsters who wear the gear with no idea

Spot on. I go to the city to watch football, have a good time and have quite drink not get into a fight. Itll be good for the city with fans coming down and enjoying a drink.

Not so long ago we used to pride ourselves on ensuring only city fans drunk in city centre, mobs in staff club, pow, borough, albert and any rival fans were slapped. Those days have gone now and you need to realise I dont think they will be back. The type of fan we have now, jail sentances, policing has stopped it all.

You can't move in town for CCTV cause trouble and u'd be nicked within minutes , im affraid we have to accept that those days are well and truely over

I get what your saying,a few of my mates got jail for the chelsea game.I never said anything about battering people,i just think that being there sends out a message.A lot of my mates who got busted for the chelsea game hate what has happened to our happy clapping plastic family club.!!!!

A bunch of lads about my age started calling me a sheepshagger and getting close to me outside the ground, so in self defence pushed one of them and told them all to back off. next thing i know im being chucked in the bag of a riot van taken to a police station for hours then having to find my own way home from shefield. to top it off i had to make my way back there a week later for my court apperence.

All this for self defence!!!! if people want to get involved let them but from my own expereince what a waste of time and if away fans want to have a pint in town let them and just grow up where not in the 80s - 90s anymore

There were around 7-8 boys my age i was 17 at the time, all shouting abuse offering me out. one in particular bounced towards me like the clown wannabe hooligans do in a threatening manner.

As i did'nt want to catch a slap of him i pushed him away and kindly told him to FECK OFF!!! to which i was arrested

If you don't agree that was self defence thats your opinion but i do and i was lucky that shefiled magistrates agreed and i was let off with court fees and a condisonal discharge.

My point was all i did was push someone and that created a lot of hassle for me and i now have a criminal record for it

Without Tans investment we'd probably be knocking about in the 1st or 2nd Division
now with a dead City Centre anyway, home crowds of around 7000......

How long a ban did you get for it Mikey?

I pleaded guilty to assualt at the station but only because it was self defence.

When it got to court the judge believed me which meant no ban. But just incase he gave me a conditional discharge which lasted 12months, this meant that if I was arrested within 12months I had to be charged with the offence again.

My solicitor said expect a minimum 3year ban regardless of being inocent because it was football related so I'm lucky really
