Jay is too stuck up his own ass and lazy. Would rather see Gestede give his all and try his hardest!

Gestede everytime for me i think he has the potential to be a better player than bothroyd especially if he learns the physical side off heidur and the runs to make from bellamy .We could end up with one of the best target men in the country on our hands thats how much i believe in his abilities and really hope he gets the run in the side he needs to achieve it , he has shown glimpses of pure quality in a few games he has played in and is a decent finisher . Hes one for the near future imo !

IF he does that then that would be great. However it would also be great IF he could learn the finishing technique off Mason, the skills off Noone, the passing off Whitts etc. Unfortunately it comes down to the players own ability, and Rudy is miles off the pace in several departments.if he learns the physical side off heidur and the runs to make from bellamy

No they aren't. Bothroyd can score goals from anywhere, actually dribble, run properly and beat defenders with skill. He was one of the most technically gifted players I've seen at Cardiff on his day and had a fantastic touch. Yes he went missing, yes his head dropped at times, but you simply cannot compare the two players in terms of ability and style. Bothroyd is on a different level.has the eagerness and ambition to improve himself as a player ! bothroyd hasnt .
Jay flopped at QPR and then flopped at Wednesday. Don't underestimate the drive of a player who needs to show he's still got it and prove a lot of people wrong.i think he has the potential to be a better player than bothroyd
Oh dear. When has he ever shown this potential? Winning 1 in 6 flick ons? Completing a simple pass? Scoring a relatively easy chance against Millwall? I could link endless videos of Bothroyd goals that Rudy could only dream of scoring. On his day there is simply no comparison.
Furthermore, you (and many other city fans) talk of potential as if he's some 18 year old from the reserve team. He is 24 years old, surely he MUST be showing signs that he's a better player than Bothroyd by now. Surely? I'm not asking for miracles, but a few assists, a few goals. Take away Saturday's goal and Rudy's CV is looking somewhat bare.IF he does that then that would be great. However it would also be great IF he could learn the finishing technique off Mason, the skills off Noone, the passing off Whitts etc. Unfortunately it comes down to the players own ability, and Rudy is miles off the pace in several departments.if he learns the physical side off heidur and the runs to make from bellamyWe could end up with one of the best target men in the country on our hands
Dearie me. He won't even be the best target man at Cardiff as long as Helguson is with us. I do, however, admire your (somehwat delusional) faith in him.he has shown glimpses of pure quality in a few games he has played in and is a decent finisher
Sorry I must have missed these. Where and when were these 'glimpses'? All I've seen is a 6ft 4 striker win about 25% of the balls directed to him and score one goal which he took well fair play. On the other side of the coin, which you HAVE to look at, he's missed a myriad of headers, flick ons and has a shockingly poor touch.
Decent finisher? No no no. On Saturday, I was in the Canton watching the players do that shooting drill. He was missing them all until it eventually became a bit of a joke. On the pitch itself I struggle to recall him demonstrating a 'decent' level of finishing ability. Let's be honest, he's known for missing, not scoring.Hes one for the near future imo !
The future of League 1 maybe. If we go up, he'll be completely out of his depth in the Prem.
Admittedly, this may have seemed a tad harsh. I've defended Rudy on many occassions, specifically last season when he came under fire from all angles. However I have to disagree entirely with your post, as there is minimal evidence to support any of your statements.
Rudy Gestede is NOT at the level Cardiff City are aspiring to; nor will he ever be. It's the harsh reality in my opinion.
