Looks like this so far in the fans player of the season after half way through the league!
1st - Hudson
2nd - Marshall
3rd - Noone
4th - Bellamy

That would be my order then
5. Connolly
6. Heidar.

Can't argue with that! Abit harsh on whitts mind even if hes had a quiet few games he's still instrumental in the way we play and set pieces.Few games ago we we're drooling over his set piece ability
Mon Dec 31, 2012 12:45 am
Yeh I think it's pretty much bang on!
When I had look through added votes, gunnarson was In 5th place

Hudson and Marshall have been outstanding where others have been great.
Mon Dec 31, 2012 1:05 am
1. Noone
2. Hudson
3. Smith
4. Connolly
I think consistancy wise, Smith would be the in everyones lists if he didn't get injured.
Mon Dec 31, 2012 1:35 am
its a toss up between Hudson and Marshall so far and i can't choose between either of them at the minute!
Mon Dec 31, 2012 1:43 am
Whittingham? He may be playing deep, but I'd say he's only had one or two 'bad' games. The way he just shifts the ball back and forth looking for openings, chipping in with 7 goals and God knows how many assists. I'd say only Hudson, Noone and Marshall rank above him.
My top 6
1. Hudson - Captain fantastic
2. Noone
3. Marshall
4. Whitts
5. Bellamy - Started badly, got injured, came back and had a few good games, got injured again, went off the boil and came back strong. Remember a few weeks agi it was "Waste of money"
6. Gunnarsson - Underrated, scored 6 goals from midfield and games the side a totally new shape. How Mutch gets in before him is beyond me

How can everyone forget about Andrew Taylor. he has been so consistant this year!
Mon Dec 31, 2012 7:19 am
Just goes to show you have to give a player time to settle in. I was Hudsons biggest critic when he first came here but now he’s first on the team sheet every week. Got to agree with stuK 147Taylor has been brilliant this season
Hudson
Marshall
Whitts

It's all about opinions. After Charlton away our defence was shit after all those mistakes! Same afte wursels away.
In my opinion Hudson has been key this season. Our only home defeat came when he was suspended. Marshall has made several match winning saves and has proved doubters wrong. Matt Connoly has done very well after a shaky start. Craig Noone has been different class and is best signing of summer. Bellamys recent form has been excellent and bodes well for rest of season. Helgusson has been immense as well leading the line and taking knocks for team.
To sum up i would say that our entire squad has been great and they are all responsible for our current position.

I'd swop 3rd and 4th place is all. Noone has been brilliant, great buy, but to me Bellamy is the
difference between City and the chasing pack. Every time CB charges across that pitch to close
down a defender It boosts his team-mates AND the crowd. There is an argument for Marshall to
be No1. But how weird would that be, top of the league and our keeper is our best player

I'd go with that but perhaps swap Whitts and Hudson. I don't know how anyone can omit whitts from their top 3 though.

Me neither. Beggars belief.
Mon Dec 31, 2012 9:53 am
I'd say...
1. Hudson
2. Whittingham
3. Noone
4. Marshall
Noone has had some stinkers as well as some very good games. If he could eliminate those stinkers then he'll be a contender for Player of the Season. Whittingham has been very underrated this season. Still got a goal or two but has kept the ball moving.
Mon Dec 31, 2012 10:14 am
Yes thats the top 4

But whole team have done their part - This is the year BELIEVE
Mon Dec 31, 2012 11:00 am
Absolutely gobsmacked Whitts is missing from loads of lists, this happens every year when people only remember the last few games. Whitts wasn't just one of our best in first part of season, he was one of the best in Championship!
My 4, no particular order, Marshall, Hudson, Whitts followed by Bellamy although I'm being a hypocrite as it's on his performances over last month or so. Tommy Smith would have probably been in had he not got injured, def in top 4 early season, hopefully be like a new signing now!
Mon Dec 31, 2012 11:10 am
Whitts has to be in there , some people will only remember recent games but up until I would say last few games , he has delivered quality corners, free kicks and passes that have led to goals and he would walk into any team in championship.
Saying that Hudson gets my vote this season so far!
Hudson
Whitts
Marshall
Noone
Marshall has made some great saves and the odd mistake but generally has been excellent and Noone has given us a cutting edge and you hear the crowd get excited when he gets he ball and runs down the line. If Smith had not got injured , he would have been in my top 4 and Connolly has been consistent too chipping in with important goals.Helgussson has battled away and recently Conway and Gunnarsson have stepped up !
In a lot of ways , it has been a team effort rather than individuals as proven by the goals being shared out and we have match winners all over the park , long may it continue! Oppostion fans say we are lucky but I think they cannot see the work ethic the squad has !

I would not disagree with your choice of the 4 best players this season,i would only add that it does concern me that one of your best players is a goal keeper, does tend to say it all to my way of thinking
Mon Dec 31, 2012 1:11 pm
Hudson
Marshall
Witts
Noone

At last, now that seems about right. I think people should look at the whole game and a lot of ditribution from marshall is poor i.e kicking it up field to nobody instead of playing it to the full backs.

When you need to grind out 1-0 wins like at Leicester, you need to have a reliable keeper and clean sheets so you need your keeper to be at his best.

Marshall made several blunders earlier in the season to cost us. The Wolves free kick he really should have saved, the Leeds free kick that went through him, the Charlton away goals where he was at fault for at least 2 of them, possibly 3. I am basing my list on consistancy throughout the season. A few months ago, everyone was saying "give Lewis a chance" because Marshall started poorly, so wake up mate!

Isn't it a strange world? at the end of last season I would've bet a weeks wages that Ben Turner would be in that top 4 group now, but he's way off the pecking order, maybe he'll show his worth in the 2nd half of the season.

Things like this always happen in football.
For example, if you asked me last season that Jonny Evans would be arguably United's best player so far this season, I would never have thought it would be true.
