Is the tide turning?

Wed Dec 26, 2012 12:24 pm

There's been many ticket threads on here recently, people after tickets and people offering tickets.

Away crowds on the up, home crowds on the up, it seems the armchair fans are on the move :ayatollah:

Heard on the radio Blues are home in a Welsh derby too, but regardless WE have sold out and by the sounds could have sold a good few more.

A good performance and win and this is how it could & should be! What chance ticket touts at the CCS before the seasons end? :ayatollah: Bluebirds!

The result today will have a huge impact on our next attendance.

Re: Is the tide turning?

had the change of colour not happened the attendances would have been much better than what they have been all season

I agree with Adam here.

It might be a sell out today but before this game our home and away attendances would have been larger than what they were if it was not for the rebrand.

Not if we hadn't had the investment and if we were lower in the league  anyway it is what it is, and we are on the up :ayatollah:

The problem is, we always lose when we get a big crowd.

Our last 2 home crowds of over 26,000 shows the fans are there :ayatollah: :ayatollah: Personally if we continue to play like we have been and continue to be top of the league then every crowd from now to the end of the season should be at least ' 25,000 plus ' :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Rugby knows that if we continue to do well they can never match us with crowds, football is the NO 1 Sport in Wales, we have the second most registered park football sided in England and Wales. :ayatollah:

Rugby will dread the day we get to the Premier League. :ayatollah:

Our away support has finally started to increase. :ayatollah:

I work with a few ST holders at The Blues who have confirmed there is talk amongst their crowd about how well the City are doing and admitting their loyalties would change and they would watch City games also or instead should we get promoted.

Crucial win today in front of a bumper crowd and a win on Boxing day! :ayatollah:

I'm shit with the quote button on this post I-pad :old:

In all fairness Vince Alm got this spot on, he said at the start if we up the top by Xmas, you watch the crowds, I think rather than the colour, people are just pissed off or scared to believe we could finally get there, we have had so many close misses and disappointments that people are finding it hard to believe..
Let's hope we keep building on it and sell out every week. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

No gotta disagree with you here because if there was no rebrand then by definition we wouldn't have half the quality wev'e got at the moment and we'd probably be between 5th and 8th and under those circumstances I don't think we would get even 20k.

forget the red or blue, do you really think the demands for tickets would be higher if we were still blue, i dont, my son in law loves rugby he is down the liberty now and even he is saying look at the crowds football gets week in and week out. he text me earlier it is not a sell out down the liberty this afternoon. do i feel sorry for the rugby not a chance i watched cardiff away to orient and all them places shit crowds but what a great laugh, i can remember the council made cardiff but up barriers in the old bob bank when we were skint and our crowds were a massive 7,500 ask annis he will remember. i wish we were still in blue but we are not, we are 5 points clear in this division. it is our year bluebirds, redbirds :?

Was the tickets really sold out? I saw quite a few empty seats. Really disheartening.

Yes. All tickets were sold, however this doesn't mean everyone was there. The club couldn't do anymore, it's up to people whether they want to use the ticket that they have paid for or not. Whilst it should be in my opinion, attendance is not compulsory.

Have you seen how many Premiership games have had loads of empty seats recently?
There were less empty seats in the home ends than any other game, it was a record crowd, how can you possibly describe that as disheartening???

I understand it was Christmas only yesterday and all, but come on now, at least go to the game you paid for! There's no way all them people were ill as well. It's a shame, because there were people who wanted to go who couldn't get tickets because they were sold out, and in the end there were seats empty around the place.

God knows how they would make it compulsory, but unless illness/family/emergency is involved, I think a fine of some sorts should be put in place. This goes for every club now.

It would have been a lot bigger if we was in Blue, by like 10 fans.

Long way to go yet. Almost 2000 tickets left for Sat and the segregation won't be sold, or the extra 800 in the Prem Lounge today. Crowd more likely to be 22500-23k I guess.

After today though you are mad if you are going to miss out. 3 of the last 4 games have seen superb results and a huge amount of bottle shown by our players.

Millwall should be a decent crowd, none of the other matches this season have come down as low as 2000 tickets left on e-ticketing (other than the last 2), they usually come to around 2500-3000, plus we have a few days left yet so I'd expect it to come down to around 1600 on friday night. They'll probably bring around 700 I'd guess making it a crowd of around 23,000. Decent if you ask me :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Was down to 1800 left half an hour ago, however a block of 250-300 seem to have been taken off-sale in the Canton/Ninian corner, which is a bit weird, leaving only 1500 ish to sell. Maybe we've got another batch of Malaysian kids coming over

The very suggestion now that crowds are down because of the rebrand is ludicrous.

New fans coming in through the gate will have far outnumbered the ones who refuse to.

My major gripe was the amount of WRU tops in there. f*cking dickheads. Why are they
trying to prove a point?
