PHONE SCAM AIMED AT PENSIONERS!

Please inform all pensioners you know that if they get a call from 01619610013 to hang up straight away! My Mother had an automated call informing her she was owed £1000 pension bonus which would be paid within the next 8 - 12 weeks. She was told to press 5 to claim, 1 if she had already been paid and 9 to opt out.
IT'S A SCAM!! Pressing any of the numbers connects to a premium rate number. Unfortunately my Mother pressed 5 and there was no answer and she was then disconnected.
I "Googled" the number and it's definately a SCAM, Bastards.

That must be the one that rung my house yesterday. I answered the phone, as soon as it said pension bonus I hung up. Any automated messages just put the phone down. There's a lot of it lately!

How do they get away with doing something like that? It is clearly fraud and the phone companies shouldn't even connect the calls.

last couple of months every night at around 5-6 i was getting ppi calls so I signed up and bang they've all stopped now.

She's already registered with the TPS. I don't understand how they got her number, or how they know the numbers they're contacting belong to pensioners.
