Can only beat what's in front of you

Tue Oct 13, 2026 8:43 pm

Let's be honest, Watford were dreadful. They looked like a poor League One team at best - no wonder there's so much noise around them.

But can only beat what's in front of you and we did that. Great to score five goals, although no clean sheet.

Moylan outstanding again, MOTM. Should have had a hattrick, not impressed by Willock taking that penalty.

Really pleased for Tanner, played well.

Only real downside Lawlor's injury but at least Bielik is back on Saturday.

A comfortable night and a good three points :bluebird:

Good performance, and keeps us away from the bottom three. Boro away is going to be a big game can BBM set up a team to get a result away. Moylan and Ashford looked a great partnership.

That's very true,

Yes that’s true and this must not be a one off

We now must continue this and get a draw at Boro and then beat Brum at home

Great result, it's been coming for a while at home. Shame we didn't keep a clean sheet but a good night for everyone.

Agree with you there Ned, although I gave my MotM vote to Ollie Tanner (from Jack Moylan), as that’s the best game he’s had this season and long may it continue  :ayatollah:

Again, we were very good at home. Need to book our ideas up on the road now
Watford on paper have good players. International experience but what an utter shambles they were
Can see why they're fans are so pissed off
Really genuinely pleased for Tanner tonight

Watford extremely poor. I thought they were competitive the first half, despite the score. Our second goal arguably against the run of play. Some good saves from Trott on the night too. Could’ve been a different story.

But fantastic to see us score a few goals again. Second half a bit of a procession. Thought Fish did really well coming on and we’ll need him depending on how bad Lawler’s injury is. NG had an off night and he was poor first half. Solid game from Osho. Not sure about J Colwill this year but he’s finding his feet at this level.

A one off but given how pops Watford are and where they are, but a win is a win. Well needed 3 points.

Great win and good performance as bed said you can only beat what's there although Watford look relegation fodder already never seen such poor body language from a team to be honest so many different players from abroad they was shocking.

Although Boro won't have that performance Vs then at there's so BBM will have to change something with the system as it don't work away so far in the championship :bluescarf:

My God Watford had their chances and a better team would have scored 5.
Thankfully we won with some nice goals.

Moylan, Tanner and Robertson were the stand out outfield players for me so fair comment Chris.

I am pleased for Tanner because I think some of the criticism he gets is a little unfair.

Yes worried about Lawlor but I thought fish was outstanding when he came on

Willock should be ashamed of what he did to moylan but hopefully they have talked it out in the dressing room

I'm very happy for Tanner
When he missed that shot with his right foot earlier in the game some idiot behind me was shouting "take him off, he's the worst player on the pitch" I couldn't believe what I was hearing, but I'm glad his goal shut that pleb up

Don't understand why he gets so much stick but I've always seen potential in him and he's growing as a player

I thought Moylan, Robertson, J. Colwill and Ashford were all outstanding!

Tanner did well and deserved his goal!!

Fish made some absolutely crucial blocks, while Bagan was as solid and dependable as ever.

Osho was pretty consistent throughout.

NG, was all over the place! I still can't believe Watford took off their left winger, who had him on toast all evening!

Willock was okay, neat and tidy enough, but decided to pile a whole load of unnecessary pressure on himself with the penalty incident!

I was particularly encouraged by how well Moylan and Ashford linked up, especially in the first half. Some really promising signs there!

And Robertson a Rolls-Royce of a footballer. So composed, classy and effortless on the ball!
