My Honest Belief : The reality is that our defense is not up

The reality is that our defense is not up to the demands of the Championship .

I mean this in general .


We make mistakes in defence virtually in every game and did in league 1

You can’t get away with it in The Championship

In a general way it is very demoralizing for a team to have there outfield players to work hard and know that they can and do score ….while knowing that their defense is going to fxxk it up .


The rest of the team are constantly thinking that what’s the point of playing well ….knowing that half the games their defense is going to mess up .

There is so little screening from the midfield

No clean sheets says it all

BBM has not learnt. Way to open away from home. Need to pack the midfield, forget 2 wingers.

Agree we strengthen for whatever reason and it shows,up front too.

Does it need screening? Most of the goals are just general bad defending with occasional break through midfield.... 1st goal should been booted out but it wasn't he just tapped it straight at their player ..... 2nd began made no effort to get back to cover if he did he would have got ball off line! Feels as if need a good defensive coach.....

Beilik was missed today , also showed why we shouldn't have got rid of wintle he covered for our poor defence.
Think Beilik in the number 6 might cover it .
Corners awful for two seasons and even made turnbull look good
9 games no clean sheets , moylan only player really looks like scoring , no plan b sorry were doing the same thing and getting same result , bbm now lets see what your worth

I think Joel Colwill having a poor game was a big reason we struggled defensively today.

I didn't think there were any really terrible mistakes today like there have been in other games ... We can't really expect players to go through 90 minutes and not put a foot wrong

The problem is that at this higher level better players will punish you more often. There were signs of it last season in League 1 and BBM needs to find a way of sorting it out sooner rather than later.

Yes I agree with you but I'm not sure that BBM will change that much and if we continue leaking two goals a game on average we're going to be in big trouble.

Biggest mistake was begans! He made no attempt to get back to defend goal,....you see him giving up when ball went into middle as nearest defender he should be racing to get back but he didn't ... trott half stops ball and it slowly went in if began had tried to get back he would have reacjed ball easily before crossing line..... might not call it a mistake but in reality both goals were preventable with more effort.

This is what I'm seeing. Bagan is great in attacking build up play on the front foot, but if you look back at a lot of goals we've conceded Bagan"s actually been at fault or could have done better. I know he's popular but that's how I see it. Scanlon should have a run in team and it might actually make Bagan better in the long run as he'd need to up his game.

Wasn't impressed with Bagan's lack of effort to stop the second goal. He may not have got there anyway but you have to try.

Ned he would have got there from moment ball was crossed he gave up he still didn't try when trott half saved shot how many times do you see players busting a gut to get back on line thats what he should have been doing but he didn't. Bm took him of for scanlon at 70mins and we were lot better at back allowing more attack minded play....this is why bbm should have done this particular change at halftime...
