I personally think Scanlon coming back is good news. We didn't see that much of him last season so I can't judge him for good or for bad. But we desperately needed LB cover this season so the deal makes total sense.
Liverpool have also given him a new long term contract so they must rate him. Not like it's only a one year extension so they can sell him next summer if he does well with us. So that's a good sign.
But we are all assuming he's coming in just to be a LB or LB cover.
He can actually play both as a left back and left winger. He has pace which is a great attribute and if you look at clips from the Liverpool academy, he's good at crosses.
Last season he was coming back from a serious injury so I do think we'll see more of him now he's fully recovered.
I expect Willock to start on the left on Monday but Scanlon is an option there (that's where he played for Millwall) as well as at LB.

I agree, I’m happy with this signing and can’t understand why others are moaning.
I wrote this on another thread earlier ……
I think it’s a good signing personally.
Young, quick and likely to improve under BBM hopefully.
Can challenge Bagan, can rotate if he proves himself and can even play further forward on the wing.
Still at Liverpool at age 21 means he certainly has something about him.

Kpakio and scanlon are ready made wing backs if bbm ever needs to change it up and go with 3 centre backs and ng and bagan for our traditional 4 at the back
