Sheffield United have given the green light for defender Mark McGuinness to leave this summer.

He has clubs in the Championship and League One interested in him.

He joined for a fee rising to £10m just last summer.

I believe we did but recall having that when he went from luton to sheff u.

As much as we might want his quality and leadership i just dont think we can get him. Too much money.
Plus we already got 4 defenders in Lawlor Fish Osho And Chambers

I seen little things online saying we might go after him. But doubt that very much.

Selling him to Luton was one of the best bits of business we've done in recent years.

He was talked about as potentially being a Premier League player but I had my doubts. He couldn't cope with any sort of movement from players in 1 v 1s. Did have other qualities to be fair, such as in the air.

He has since struggled at Luton and Sheffield United, surprised he got the move to Sheffield United.

Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in League One.

Yes we did Nigel.

We originally sold him for £10mill

But for once we got it right and when Luton sold him again, Tan / Cardiff received immediately £2mill extra
