Not our history under the current owner who has been in charge a long time so it’s not actually our real history is it?

If you say so.

On this point, he’s right, though! As I said elsewhere, it’s a perception to suit a narrative; and I’ve looked to see where we have ‘sold at the first shout’ unless it’s been a player we ‘wanted rid of’ or an offer we couldn’t refuse rather than ‘at the first opportunity

Mark McGuiness is a (fairly) recent one that proves the point, after we had an offer from Luton Town that surprised all of us, and I’m sure there are others! :ayatollah:

Re: Updated : “ Dylan Lawlor “

He’s a fantastic talent but has been very injury prone so far. I’d love him to stay, but if he left for big money it’s a gamble if he’ll ever be a 30-40 game a season player.

Defenders don’t regularly get rotated out without injuries, I’d be happier if a bigger team than West Ham came in though but if they are taking the gamble as long as we get a sell on clause as he could have passed the injury issues and have a few full seasons ahead

If true, surely City have basically already agreed a fee with West Ham, or there is no way he would be allowed to talk personal terms with West Ham? :banghead:

I think it's a little different to how it used to be. The club can give permission for him to discuss personal terms while they negotiate a fee. Guess it's because deals are so complicated now with installments, etc. that they don't want to go through all that and then the player not decide terms.

Always used to be agree sale, then player discusses contract, though.

Ok I will.

A quick look at players we have received fees for under Tan. Please tell me which of these were sold at the first shout? That implies to me cheap. He even somehow managed to get 350k for Blake and Gerrard. Got 3 million for Joe Mason ffs.8 million for Zohore.

Blake
Gerrard
Cornelius
Gestede
Conway
Caulker
Campbell
Mutch
Medel
Theophile Catherine
Mason
Fabio
Moore, S
Marshall
Saadi
Zohore
Reid
Manga
Etheridge
Cunningham
Moore, K
McGuinness
Siopis

Might be a few more but there are none on that list I think we sold on the cheap at first shout.

championship clubs sell 18 year olds for 20-25m nowadays so think it's about time the club do the same

We've always sold players for much less than they're worth
Football has evolved and the days of selling quality players like rambo for under 5m should be behind us

We sold mcguiness for around 8m (I think)
So lawler should be worth more than double that and the hammers have a lot of money now so they shouldn't be able to come to us and walk away with a deal under 20m they aren't anything special they are in the same league as us now so I hope the club don't pull their pants down and bend over for them

We haven’t sold players for much less than they are worth for about 15 years.

That’s the thing Monty. Clearly a passionate Cardiff fan and that’s great and that but man you wrote some shite that is so easy to counter and then you can’t hold your argument.

You are very similar to Trump in that regard as he just says stuff with no substance or accuracy. (Not just Trump the Internet is riddled with people like it).

Latest on Jens Hjerto-Dahl:

Reports suggesting Rangers have intensified their efforts to sign Tromso player Jens Hjerto-Dahl are false

Record Sport reported on Thursday afternoon that while Rangers officials had an agreement for Dragojevic in place, their chances of signing the Norwegian Under-21 playmaker were diminishing amid competition from Cardiff City.

A story later emerged online claiming Rangers and Tromso had agreed on the terms of a £6.6 million package. However, sources close to Hjerto-Dahl have dismissed these reports, insisting Rangers have not yet met Tromso’s asking price.

Jens Hjerto-Dahl told reporters he has not given much thought to a rejected £5.3m bid from Rangers. He stated the offer arrived a week ago and was rejected by Tromso, and added that he accepts that.

Dylan you will get better experience playing with the City for another year..

Stay one more year, develop in the Championship and become a 30 million player with City.

If we don't go up City sell get more bucks as does Dylan as his stock rises.

Sitting on the bench at West Ham will adversely effect his development.

However a straight swap for Jarred Bowen would be a game changer..

Could Dylan play at a defensive central midfielder in the championship and play NG Fish Osho and Bagan at the back? Thoughts!

Not if we want to stay in the Championship, unfortunately.

I am hearing that Lawlor wants to stay with Cardiff and wants at least to stay with us in the Championship and is in No rush to leave.

Lawlor has made his mind up he wants to stay, unless he is pushed out.

BBM wants Lawlor to Stay as well.

But Hierarchy need to Sell someone to give BBM real money.
