Bristol City are finalising the signing of Plymouth Argyle striker Lorent Tolaj.
The clubs have agreed a fee of £4m, plus add-ons.
Tolaj, 24, has also completed a medical.
He had 30 goal contributions last season in all competitions - scoring 22 and providing eight assists.

£4m is an absolute steal for him.
Great signing for Bristol.

Why unfortunately? We sign him then what about salech? Can't have a 4m player on bench or a 10m rated player either ....simply cannot have to main strikers and only play one.... certainly not way bbms team play

Because it strengthens our rivals?

Because Salech may get injured, may get suspended, can't play 90 minutes of every game, lose form?
Or are you suggesting that because we've got Salech we don't need any other strikers?
Or that because we have Salech we don't need another quality striker, just a cheap "adequate" striker who'll only get a game when Salech can't play and will then inevitably make us weaker?
We need a strong squad where every player is on an equal level so if someone like Salech needs replacing then that can be done without weakening the team.

Great signing for them. Would have provided great competition for Salech. 4m is a good deal for him and it would be a sound investment coz u aint gonna lose money on this dude.
Surely we'll make a signing or 2 soon. It's now Wrexham and us who have not strengthened the squad so far. All other 22 teams have added at least 1 new player to their ranks.
You can't help but get twitchy and impatient. Trying not to think about losing Lawlor as well.

Strikers also go off the boil have bad days etc but last seasons injury should have taught bbm a lesson we used a makeshift striker in kellyman in place of salech andxrhe other lesson was we had another striker but hardly played robinson .

I was against is signing another striker in January because I believed we were going to get promoted anyway. Said I'd rather wait until the summer when we can attract better as a Championship club.
I stand by that and hope we do sign another striker this summer.
It's not just about if Salech gets injured but also to give him some real competition. At the moment he knows he'll play every game, that's not always healthy.
LB another example of that.

Gutted we didn't sign him last season but I agree with Worcester we were going up either way and I doubt Plymouth would have sold him at 4m in January to a league one rival
I thought he would have on been on BBMs shortlist this summer but for all we know BBM might have someone better lined up

It's the unknown regarding bbms budget if even got one? Buying a 4m player at moment when got a striker seems a risk? Probably should be concentrating on other positions that desperately need 1st midfield defender! Striker is required that's for sure but 4m at this time not so sure top priority.

Maybe we are aiming higher?
On loan or as a transfer?
I agree with most a position we need to add to and strengthen.

I don't think he's that good and I think they've massively overpaid. 1.5 million to 2 million would be a fair price. I will be surprised if he gets double figures at Championship level.
