Cardiff City's hopes of re-signing Omari Kellyman have been boosted after Chelsea weighed up another Championship loan for the exciting attacker.

Cardiff City's hopes of bringing Omari Kellyman back to the club have received a significant boost after Chelsea were reported to be seriously considering another loan move to the Championship.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a superb spell in south Wales last season, scoring 11 goals as Brian Barry-Murphy's side secured promotion back to the Championship, and the Bluebirds remain keen to reunite with one of their standout performers.

According to Football.London Chelsea correspondent Bobby Vincent, the Blues are currently weighing up whether Kellyman should spend next season on loan abroad - the player's preferred option - or remain in England.

The article says that the Bluebirds chances are increased ‘because Chelsea have just signed another player’, and because of the relationship between the Bluebird coaches and the guy who pulls the strings at Chelsea

It may/may not happen, but coupled with Omari’s recent sojourn with other Bluebird players, I am encouraged that it could happen

So, basically, we have a decent chance of getting him back, and I’m happy with that; but I accept that maybe some others aren’t?

I'd be ecstatic to have him back Sven. I just think people are reading into things that aren't there. We've all known for months Kellyman is going to be loaned out again, with a high likelihood of that being to a championship side, that puts us in with a chance but I wouldn't say a good one as it's pretty uncommon for guys to be sent back to the same place. The only new info here is Kellyman wants to go abroad but Chelsea would prefer a championship move. I don't see the positive spin

I don't think we are even in for him. Does he fit Murphys system?

Last season was a free punt; Chelsea needed to get him fit and see what he is in men's football and we got a talented kid.

IMO he is a striker; he reminds me of Tammy Abraham, but we are not a run-the-channels team. He isn't taking Rubin's jersey, and he is not a winger.

Chelsea will want a decent wedge for the loan fee as well, and paying big wages. I can't see it

I didnt think we would get him back this season as clubs normally like there youngsters to experience multiple different options

However this could actually be close to happening which is pleasantly surprising and hopefully we get it sorted pretty quickly

The bonus (for Chelsea) would be that he would be at (a) the higher level they want, and (b) with a coach they already know will further develop their asset

He wasn't very effective on the wing, did very well at 10 for a while but also was absent in games.

I wouldn't grumble if he came back, but Cozier Duberry as an example out-performed him and most of the rest of L1; I'd hope we'd be after him or even better, someone more ready for the top end of the Championship.

I wouldn't put him in a Harry Wilson (when on loan for us) or a 2nd half of season Phillogene bracket, myself. Not yet.

I agree kellyman filled a slot vacated by salech that's it, nowhere near Harry wilson if he comes back great if not then lets aim for better still rather than make do with what is available budget wise.
