I've said the last few weeks that I think BBM will be backed, others have said similar.
And as has been pointed out by a couple of people on this thread, very few transfers are done with a lump sum paid up front these days. It would be the money spread over four years or so, which doesn't impact the budget too much. That's why Chelsea sign players on eight year contracts.
I think those who say he won't be backed will be pleasantly surprised by the end of the window.
It's been said for a while bbm will be backed but gone are the days we pay stupid money for over the hill journey men
Pretty much every player we sign whilst bbm is at the club will have re sale value
The next few weeks are going to be very interesting and will calm a lot of people nerves
When people say BBM will be backed I was just assuming a million or 2 for a player
Why would people call that being backed?
By being backed we mean being given enough money for the players he wants.
Judge it at the end of the window, not now. But the fact that multiple sources are saying we've made a £5.5m offer is positive, yes?

Well if Jens's parents have signed up to the best CCCFC Messageboard then tell your boy to come to Cardiff.
As the song goes, South Wales is wonderful. Apparently it's full of tits, fanny and Cardiff.
Scotland on the other hand is full of big hairy blokes wearing skirts, drinking too much whiskey and speaking in an accent nobody can understand.
And Rangers play in a pub league.

Europa League.
They're also a much bigger club than us.
Much bigger in what way though? They seem like a bigger club in theory but I'm not so sure in practice. Sure their crowds are much bigger but the Scottish leagues are very weak and there's only really 2 teams and it's not much of a challenge when only 1 team is your competition. I can see the Europa league being a draw but what else would be?
What besides the Scottish only cups have they won? Just seems like a bit of a dead end for players as well but each to their own & if that where he wants to go then that's his decision & good luck to the guy.

I agree, I think we'll always find it difficult to compete with Rangers to sign players. Most would always favour a move there. Only way that would change is if we ever get back to the Premier League.

Huge in what way though besides their crowd size?
I have a brother in law who says the same thing & he came out of the womb waving a Rangers scarf yet he can't even answer that question without a lot of wishful thinking & hand waving.
If it's because they came 3rd in a 2 horse race last season or the European games because if it's the European connection than you may as well play for TNS, they last about as long as Rangers in Europe, all be it with smaller crowds.
I always used to think of Rangers & Celtic as huge teams as well until I lived there & realized there is no real competition & you're either catholic & support Celtic or you're not & generally support Rangers, hence the huge rivalry in the past, and that's why they're thought of as huge. They obviously have the same sort of money to throw around as most Championship clubs do, including us, and would be mid table Championship at best if they were in our league system.
That's why I think people believe they're huge when they're not really. I think this is the trap that our own Mr. Ledley fell into when he moved up there to play for Celtic.
But as I said, if he wants to go there rather than here then good luck to the guy and we move on to someone who wants to be here and play for Cardiff City.

We hold the world attendance record for a regular 4th tier football match.
I don’t say this in a boastful way, these are all simply facts, nor do I mean any disrespect to the City, I’ve had some great times watching Cardiff, home and away. However saying Rangers are not a bigger club than Cardiff is retarded.
The reason Cardiff will never be one of the biggest clubs in Britain, is because too many “proud” Welsh people support English clubs, clubs they have no familial, historical or geographical connection to.
From a personal point of view, if this guy signs for Rangers great, if not there’s no place I’d rather see him than at the CCS.

Thanks Jock, some interesting facts there but like Cardiff City most of them are in the distance past. I don't understand the 2nd one though unless you're saying they took more to Manchester than say Liverpool would take to a Champions League final or do you mean just from the other side of the border to the English side? I presume the 4th tier thing is when they got kicked out of the big leagues for being totally broke and going into admin.
As for support I was very surprised to see that Rangers had less than 800k followers on Twitter (okay x if you must) while Wrexham have over 2 million. Have mobile phones & computers reached the masses up there yet? I presume the 4th tier thing
I still don't think they're a huge club anymore due to how rich the richest are but want them to do well as long as they stay up in the frozen tundra that is Glasgow.

There’s 700 Rangers supporters clubs
There’s Rangers pubs in every popular European holiday resort
Great post jock, you are spot on.
Welshman in CA. You are embarrassing yourself with that reply to jocks post.
Why? I said it was very interesting stuff but embarrassing myself with what? Get over yourself.

No your right, we very similar size clubs. Barely anyone know of rangers outside of the uk. lol. Beggars belief.
Come on Rangers are huge. I take your point that it's an unattractive league to play in and personally I'd take a championship move over one to Celtic or Rangers but still.....
A 5.5 mill offer is very positive from us hopefully we'll get a couple in the next few weeks
Rangers are a bigger club in there country only, but they would not co.pete in the prem, if in the championship they would be facing "us" and big clubs west ham southampton WBA wolves etc which they do not have in scotland apart from celtic ,maybe hearts hibs Aberdeen Dundee that's it.

His points were well made like I said already, just because I didn't understand the second point I am arguing, okay. The Scottish part was a joke, I have family there & have lived there myself.
Jock is a big boy and more than capable of saying something if I hurt his feelings, he certainly doesn't need you sticking up for him.

Hmmm, I think they (and the other Glasgow team) would survive in the Premier League, if they had Premier League money and TV rights!

You are spot on Sven. If all things were even they would be both right up there if anyone thinks the squads they have now would be exactly the same as if they were in the premier league for 10 years, is only one level below the ridiculous statement made by Welshman inCA.
