No higher team coming in shows that BBM made the right call.

MK Dons are actually throwing a lot of money around so maybe it’s like the Wrexham thing.

Bbm played him all season, he was player of the season i know his contract ran out and he may not be not good enough for the championship, but in my eyes he is streets ahead of turnbull who we will be playing in the championship with us this season,
Good luck lad you helped us get promoted in a big big way.

I say good luck to him too. Just pointing out that league 1 may be his level that he excells.

Exactly. Wish him well and I'm sure everyone else does, but I haven't seen any reports of linking him to a Championship club and says a lot that he's back in League One.

The more I think about the more I think there’s more to it,agree with Monty about Turnbull.

Excellent signing for them, quite the coup after the season he's just had with us.

Good luck Mr Wintle and thankyou for the memories. Once a bluebird, always a bluebird.

Great signing for MK Don's- good luck for the future Ryan Wintle.

I’m in the minority but I think Wintle is massively underrated. Would’ve made the battle for relegation closer if he’d been with us. We need better but I would’ve kept him.

We’ve had players like him over the years and they are never appreciated by our fans.

I don't think you're in the minority at all. My opinion is it what the right decision for him to go, but I think many right now think we should have kept him.

Wish him well at MK Dons, hopefully he has a great next part of his career there.

Maybe, but if that's the case the same can be said for a lot of our players.

He was our best player last year so it says a lot about the rest of our squad if League One is his level.

Some players find their level and are unable to step up.
Hopefully our younger players in particular can step up under BBM.

Agree but I don't understand why so many people say this about Wintle. He had made 150 Championship appearances in the 4 years prior to last year. Apparently he shone under another manager whilst on loan at Blackpool (Championship) and under BBM he showed us what he can do. There must be some other issue

Name 5 stand-out performances for us in the championship. I can't remember 1. He wasn't good (for us) at this level. I had fears for him in L1, but he was good - but also ran over alot in some of the more physical games.

If he was as good as most think, then on a free-transfer, there'd be a que of championship clubs lining up for him - he wasn't linked with a single club in our division.

I thought he was ok for us in the championship -but just about - but you cant argue with 150 appearances in 4 years he must have been doing something ok at that level. I certainly wasn't expecting him to perform the way he did last year, but he was very good and was good for Blackpool. BBM has never seen him play in the championship as far as I am aware - but neither has he seen any of the others. And he doesn't get injured. I just find it strange that one of the mainstays and reliable players from last year who clearly thrived under BBM system was not kept on. There has to be more to it.

He did apparently do well at Blackpool but equally, he struggled at Millwall by all accounts.

The fact that we've made an offer for a player who is highly rated in Europe suggests that BBM believes he can get a better player than Wintle.

I think our first season back will be about trying to finish mid table. Wintle may have been adequate for that, but what about the season after when we want to push on? We'd then be saying Wintle isn't good enough for that.

So that, combined with trusting the manager's judgement, makes me say it was the right decision. As others have said, it's not like there were a queue of Championship clubs wanting him.

Circumstances different but it's reminiscent of those who said last summer that it was a big mistake to let Ralls go.

But the situation with those players is completely different.

Ng, Osho, Willock, Chambers etc have shown they can be good players in the Championship before - they have excelled in that league, whereas Wintle has just coped in that league.

Then you have Lawlor, Bagan, Joel, Rubin, Robertson and all the younger players - they have plenty of potential of improving. That is not the case with Wintle.

People saying there's something else going on. I doubt it. I think the manager has just decided that he wants a better player in that position for him to take the club where he wants to.
