FIFA ‘DOUBLE STANDARDS’ STRIKE AGAIN!

An MP has written to Fifa requesting a one-match suspension of England defender Jarell Quansah at the World Cup be rescinded until after the tournament. Noah Law sent a letter to Fifa President Gianni Infantino, requesting he lift Quansah's ban following a red card in England's 3-2 victory over Mexico on Monday

FIFA’s response:

FIFA has banned England defender Jarell Quansah for two matches after his red card against Mexico, according to @SkyNews.

Quansah was given a red card during England's 3-2 victory at the Azteca Stadium, and will now miss the quarter-final clash with Norway and a potential semi-final, should the Three Lions win, Sky News reports.

Clearly, the politician wasn’t influential enough to Infantino and his lackeys after’The Donald’ got his player’s similar red card reduced to a suspended one-game ban!

For me, this is massive, and I can only guess FIFA are putting things in place, just in case England were to upset one of the ‘preferred’ nations left in the World Cup!

Could say that Quansah was a bit unlucky because the way he collided with the ball caused his foot to go high on the Mexico player's leg.

But it is a red card and it is serious foul play.

The problem is the Balogun situation. He was also sent off for serious foul play. I didn't think it was a red card but FIFA didn't rescind the red card, they just suspended the ban for a year.

So yes, I think this is double standards. If FIFA had said that Balogun was incorrectly given a red card so they've decided to rescind it, it wouldn't be such a big issue.

I guess everyone is just assuming they (England) will get through the quarters. I don't think it's such a foregone result.

But yeah I don't get the 2 match ban instead of 1. FIFA is as corrupt as they come but there's no way that Infantino is leaving until he has to & even if someone did run against him (they won't) he has more than enough votes to see them off.

To be fair, the respected media and fans over here are not taking Norway lightly. I think they'll beat them but it's a tough game.

It's double standards yes but are we really going to say every red card should be suspended now? Also this cheating for Argentina thing is laughable. The supposedly crooked Argentine ref just have Morocco a penalty by the way. I thought they were there to ensure France get knocked out

Did you know that usa don't play a game that effects the suspended ban for over a year making the suspension of card worthless evectively ..
