B4 we get the ITK posters about leaked fixtures, I will have a guess based on the PL fixtures as from what I have seen in previous years promoted teams normally end up playing relagated teams. So -
Cardiff v West Ham
Wolves v Lincoln
Bolton v Burnley.
Just for fun, but based on what I have said above.

I agree, would bet my house on that.
We'll probably end up with something like Preston away at 12pm on the Sunday.

The 2026/27 Championship fixtures will be officially released on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 12:00 PM BST. This announcement will simultaneously cover League One and League Two schedules for the upcoming season
I’ll plump for an away fixture @
Burnley; hopefully without CB in charge of the ‘
home’ team!

Cardiff v Wrexham for the Welcome to Wrexham new season opener. We visit the Capital, they can chat about how Cardiff gets everything, and that North Wales is starved of investment.

PL has thrown up a West London derby between Fulham and Chelsea first game of season and another West London side at home to Spurs same day so anything is possible-Met must be thrilled.

That would be deja vu for us older ones. Exactly 50 years after being promoted to the Second Division (Championship) behind an unfancied team Hereford (Lincoln) our first game was Charlton away. 2-0 City, 2 goals Derek Showers i seem to remember

West Ham away I reckon.

And problems at the services as Bristol shitty were in London that day as well. Think a City fan lost an eye during one altercation?
Can't remember what service station it was, but I was on a coach, that had been waved away from the services prior due to so many BS being there. But we pulled in, seemed quiet as we got off the coach and walked towards the services entry door, turned a corner and several hundred BS there, all piled in to us. Few of us got a right kicking. We assembled back at our coach and then saw a welcome sight of coach after coach of Cardiff arriving - needless to say the wurzuls got taught a lesson.

Bit more peaceful where I was.

I couldn't go the game as I had arranged to go Knebworth with my girlfriend at the time. But I well remember going around the festival site desperately looking for someone who had a transistor radio so I could listen to the results coming in at 5 o clock. Made my day when the score came in before I sat back to listen to Lynyrd Skinyrd followed by the Stones. Summer of 76 - what a time
