Morning guys,
Seriously thinking about booking a holiday to Majorca this summer. Any recommendations? I haven't been there before and so after looking things up, it seems to me Can Picafort is a good option, but is a fair drive from the airport? Any places nearer to Palma that would make for a nice relaxing break? (I know Annis is living there so hoping I could get some advice)...
Preferably looking for somewhere near a few sports bars, cafes etc to have a stroll around and near to a good beach.
Cheers fellas.

Annis lives in Santa Ponsa which ticks all the boxes you mentioned. Over the other side too, i love Cala Bona and Cala Millor.

On my way to my favourite destination end of the month Santa Ponça .
With many top bars including the infamous Cantina Santa Ponça.
Fantastic links to Palma City just 25 minutes away .
A11 - Direct Airport Bus runs almost 24/7.
Brilliant restaurants .. massive variety.
Lovely bay .
Whats not to.like

Plenty of options in Majorca.
Over the years I've had good holidays in Playa de Palma and Palma Nova, both fairly close to the airport.
Then at Sa coma and Cala D'or which are a further out to the east.
All very nice options with great beaches, bars and restaurants etc.
Enjoy your trip.

I love Can Picafort, but it’s a long way from airport.
Santa Ponsa 22mins in Taxi or straight bus 35mins
Palma Nova is bouncing with new restaurants and bars and closer to airport
Santa Ponsa has over 150 Bars and restaurants and has two different sides
Quite side my side
Mad side the other side

Thanks for the heads up guys.
I knew you had moved over to that part of the world Annis. Majorca looks great for a holiday but I'm not sure I can be bothered going 2 hours on a bus up to Can Picafort after a flight.
Do you think I would be able to find a quiet part of the world near Santa Ponsa/Magaluf if I wanted a more chilled holiday?
