OFFICIAL - NATHAN TROTT SIGNS FOR CARDIFF CITY ON A PERMANENT DEAL




Cardiff City Football Club is delighted to confirm that Nathan Trott has joined the Club on a permanent transfer from Danish side F.C. København.

The goalkeeper joined the Bluebirds on loan at the beginning of the 2025/26 season and made an instant impact in South Wales, breaking a Club record by recording five clean sheets in his first five league appearances.

A Player of the Season nominee, the 27-year-old was a key member of Brian Barry-Murphy’s promotion-winning squad, making 41 Sky Bet League One appearances, and has now put pen to paper on a three-year deal in South Wales, which will run until the summer of 2029.

Speaking at Cardiff City Stadium after completing his move, Nathan said: “It’s something that I’ve wanted to get across the line. Through the course of the season, I think that all of us were on the same page to get it done, so for it to finally be done now is an amazing feeling.

“I think it’s the perfect group to be part of. With Brian we’ve got a good group of players; a good core of young players, the Welsh boys, a few experienced players, and I think we all just gel together really well.

“I’ve felt the love of the fans since the first game, and as the season has gone on it’s only grown every single game. It’s been an amazing feeling; it makes it easier for me to play every game knowing that they’re behind you, especially away games – they’re always there. It’s a very special environment, a special group of fans and city as well, so I’m looking forward to continuing that story.

“I’m excited for the Championship. I think it’s a great opportunity for me to show what I can do. I think everyone saw what I’m capable of this season, but nobody’s really seen anything yet in terms of what I can do at a higher level, so I’m excited to get started.”

Brilliant and a real statement of intent maybe the rumours of tan fully backing bbm for a Crack at promotion are not as far fetched as I believed

So important we got the Nathan Trott deal done as quickly as possible, and have.

Transfer window not even open yet but this is a great start to it.

This is also the massive advantage of going up automatically, no waiting to see if you get through in the playoffs.. you can crack on with your transfer business with certainty and not worry about someone else swooping in in the meantime

What a difference a year makes! Honestly we normally spend weeks and weeks after the season ends hoping and waiting for a manager to be appointed and not knowing what direction we’re going in. Now we have a player who spent the year with us and doesn’t even take time to look at options he does the deal instantly. Bbm is tue best thing to happen to this club in a long time. Fair play to tan for funding it and hopefully he will see what Bbm is doing and release some money

Is BBM finally being backed let's hope so, a great shot stopper for us the season gone but the rest I don't rate him at, although still better than what we have at the club. Atleast it's early and done but that's down to the option to buy before othe clubs nip in to buy him. I'm sure there was a deadline on that, that's why we got him now I reckon as there was bound to be others waiting if we didn't trigger it before the end date

We will need atleast 4 or 5 more in my opinion who are better than what we have to give it a go next season for sure and stay in the League.
