Death of the Firesticks.

Thu May 07, 2026 2:46 pm

Amazon are no longer making android OS sticks .

They introduced Vera OS last year with Select version of the stick.
But now theyre removing all Android OS from their product lines.
So if youre going to buy yourself a stick for the intention of side loading apps...
Do not buy any of the "Newest Gen" firesticks.

Amazon are moving away from Android software completely now and 99% of sticks being sold have Vera software which does not allow for Sideloading apps.

They still sell some older androids under a refurbed banner... these will work providing theyre nothing advanced of 2nd Gens or prior to 2026.

Alternatively Android boxes are looking likely to be the future of IPTV

So, if you already have a stick, you will be fine until the stick dies of natural causes
But in regards to a box, pretty much same methods.

Log in via Google account ?Instead of amazon.
Connect to internet.
Download (Aftvnews) Downloader from google playstore.
Then settings> About> Press Enter 7 times (unlocks developer options)
Turn on ADB Debugging / Allow apps from unknown sources..
Use downloader codes from your provider :ayatollah:

I don’t use a firestick as I just have the club subscription and “move” to France each game.

But

Why does it have to be a firestick? It’s just an android app. Get a cheap android tablet and a usbc to hdmi dongle.

I thought the club subscription was only for those outside the uk and was only for 3 pm home games ?

It's for all league games & league cup games with the exception of any game being the main Sky showing. Or it is for me in the USA.

Although this guy did say he "moves" to France when he watches so I presume he has a VPN that he uses.

yep VPN. Helpfully the club announced Nord VPN as a partner when they advertised the package deals a season or so ago!  ill take that to mean the club dont care if you stream through a VPN and are just happy to have you pay for the games
