Bournemouth, Brentford or Brighton in the Champions League?

Top five in the Premier League this season qualify for the Champions League again, due to Premier League clubs performing well in Europe this season.

Arsenal, Man City and Man Utd have already secured their place. Liverpool are 4th and Aston Villa in 5th - six points clear of 6th.

But if Aston Villa win the Europa League and finish in the top five, there will be another extra place in the Champions League which would go to the 6th placed team - this is because the winners of the Europa League automatically qualify for the Champions League.

With three games to go, this is how 6th to 11th looks:


6th Bournemouth - 52pts
7th Brentford - 51pts
8th Brighton - 50pts
9th Chelsea - 48pts
10th Everton - 48pts
11th Fulham - 48pts


So IF Aston Villa win the Europa League then there's a good chance that one of Bournemouth, Brentford or Brighton will be in the Champions League next season - which I think would be brilliant.

Villa play their Europa League semi final second leg tonight at home to Forest, with Forest 1-0 up from the first leg.
