you have to have the best, we cannot keep living in bargain basement, we need owners with ambition, not telling us the best keeper in this division is not worth it.

Monty, I doubt if anyone knows the truth behind this. It could be many many different things. All I will say is that no player / agent should hold the club to ransom…..but I do agree that he should be offered a decent wage / contract. Whether he has or not, nobody knows.

Copenhagen could easily get £5 million for him, so if they dropped him half a million to turn down city, they'd still be £3 million up....
He gets £500k leaving bonus, a signing-on fee, and probably more wages.

Probably along those lines, he has had a great season, and the way we played probably made him look even better than he is. I trust BBM to come up with a solution one way or another.

Guess he can do that because of other interest in him.

Ned, it seems Trott himself is the block, not his club or ours right now!

However, given that the transfer fee is set, it will still be a test of how committed we are for next season!

I sincerely hope he stays. He suits BBM and will be a massive boost! :ayatollah:

No one wants tan out more than me praying for a takeover in the summer
But should we wait to see if we sign trott or not before we go into meltdown

Trott came to City because of BBM. The way he likes to play out from the back and give his keeper some freedom, it’s tough to put a price on that as a keeper. If someone is a mercenary and wants top dollar, then let him leave. BBM will find another suitable replacement. No one is bigger than the team. All that said, I of course hope he stays. Been one of our best this year but don’t forget, he’s still only proven at League 1 level.

I think it is unreasonable. Not many clubs will have their goalkeeper as the highest earner.

But that's if that is true. As has been said by Annis, it's always made out to be because of wages when we miss out on signing a player - can't be true every time.

Yes. It’s strange that it’s often said we lose out on players as we’re not prepared to pay their wages. Then see players slated for being crap on unrealistically high wages that stops us offloading them and seeing us listed frequently as one of the highest payers-apparently due to players not wanting to play under Tan.
I struggle to keep up with it all tbh.

If trott is the issue, then I’m not bothered if we don’t sign him, don’t need another whose heart isn’t it it. City are bigger than that.

Agent at work I see.
False leak story.
Make out everyone wants him .
Prepare the ground work for a bumper weekly wage to fend of intrest.

Bingo..

Doesn't deserve a new contract.

Hasn't scored all season.

Should be more like the Exeter keeper
