BBM: There will have been doubts about us before the season

Thu Apr 16, 2026 11:20 am

BBM:

"I think there would have been a lot of doubts about myself, about the club.

It's easy to forget that the perception of the club pre-season was of a club that wasn't very stable, settled or didn't have a real clear identity.

The players have transformed that and the supporters have fuelled it with their energy.

We've come a long way in a short period of time. That's why I keep saying we take it day by day and focus on the immediate task in front of us."

Yes I had doubts, big doubts and yes you proved me wrong and I am delighted to say it :thumbright: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

Over all a great season.

The biggest test is next season in my view as this league is very very very poor, but fair play your taking us up without any money.

For you and many of the players next season is realty another level.

I will take mid table next year for the first season back.

Extremely concerned BBM isn’t gonna be significantly backed next year and our esteemed board will expect him to work miracles on a relative shoestring once again. The Championship is a different beast nowadays. Let’s wait and see but early signs aren’t great.

Totally agree Annis, next season a much bigger test. We will need several new signings just to have a good chance of survival. We all worry that he won't be backed.

He will need to bring in players but Tan probably thinks he can do it with no money again which would be a big mistake.

If Tan doesn't back BBM even moderatly, he should stick "For Sale" sign up on seasons conclusion, bids can then be submitted. Otherwise what is the point of him staying? Survival battle again, with someone of little interest running the club.

He won't.

Only way he can have any chance of recouping any of the money he's pissed up the wall on the Sala case is by getting promoted to the Premier League.

He will expect BBM to get the team promoted on the same budget as this year ie f**k all.

I honestly don't understand why anybody would think that Tan is going to back BBM in any meaningful way.

We will have an hint of how things, are going to pan out if trott is signed or not, we cannot go on drifting every season ,we fans want cardiff to be going places but are been held back by a spiteful owner.

My fear is we will get no backing from the poisoned chalice (Tan) he will sack BBM at some point replacing him with a bargain basement manager from Kwiksave and the cycle begins again.
TAN JUST SELL UP AND GO NOW

I’m not sure it’s a really poor league. Poor compared to what?

It’s not as good as the championship but it’s better than league 2.

We’ve had a great season especially using so many young players.

Next season is all about investment. If we’re not backed strongly I believe we’ll struggle big time.

For me I can’t see there being enough investment I think he’ll try to rely on our managers contacts to bring in mainly loans and free’s.
That won’t be good enough.

A mid table finish next season would be ok.

Same as you Annis, i'd never heard of BBM when he took the job but considering the dictator gave him zero funds he has performed miracles. I'm hoping that potenial new owners are still close enough to make a move on the club if Tan decides to go, if not then next season could be over before it starts.

Tan lives in a fantasy world where miracles can be achieved without investment.

BBM deserves all the credit for getting us up he’s created a playing style and professionalism we haven’t had for ages.Young players have been bled and his possession based football although sometimes frustrating to watch has been successful.over the years we’ve been used to a more direct style and we may have to tweak it a little in the championship where teams will target us on the break more if they smell a weakness . I just hope he is backed and given a chance to improve the players and style again ,but let’s enjoy hopefully now a great end to the season and show him and the players some appreciation :occasion5: :bluescarf: :bluebird: :old:
