BBM INJURY UPDATE:

Thu Apr 16, 2026 10:24 am

Bluebirds boss Brian Barry-Murphy said the skipper is “definitely out” of the game on Saturday, with no clear timescale yet placed on his return, raising the prospect that his season could now be in doubt with only a handful of games remaining.

“Calum has damaged his wrist,” the City boss said.

"He’s definitely out and there’s no definite date on his return. He’s going to be out for a while."

It comes as Cardiff continue their push towards promotion, with Barry-Murphy also confirming Cian Ashford will miss the trip to Reading after suffering a back issue.

“Cian Ashford has got an issue with his back, so he won’t be available. He’s quite sore,” he added.

“Isaak Davies is back in training today, which is good for us, so we’ll see how he is,” Barry-Murphy said, while adding there were “a few bumps and bruises” but nothing major from Tuesday night’s draw at Huddersfield.

Another positive is the continued progress of Yousef Salech, whose goal upon return in midweek further underlined just how much Cardiff have missed in over the last few months.

Barry-Murphy said the striker is improving steadily as Cardiff manage his minutes carefully, although the manager was coy over whether the forward was ready to start at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

“He’s doing really well and improving a lot,” he said.

There is also cautious optimism over Dylan Lawlor, who has struggled with a sore toe following his exploits with Wales.

The City boss said the issue hampered him against Bolton and meant he was unable to finish Tuesday’s game, but there is hope he can come through the final training sessions before Saturday.

“He’s got a sore toe. He was pretty sore against Bolton but managed to get through the game,” Barry-Murphy explained.

“It probably just wasn’t possible for him to finish the game on Tuesday, but fingers crossed he’ll be okay today and tomorrow and be able to complete Saturday.”

Probably unlikely that Chambers will play again this season, going by those comments.

Sounds like Lawlor and Davies should be fine though.

Nothing there about a broken wrist.

Robinson could have just strained his from too much wanking. Or is it someone else with a broken wrist? I shouldn't have to go back after so many players have been mentioned.

I give up, you win.
