Salech says: That's the feeling I've been fighting for

Tue Apr 14, 2026 11:56 pm

Yousef Salech:

"I guess that's the feeling I've been fighting for these last three months. I think a big part of us getting a point was how well we defended. They had a lot of big chances.

"Full credit to Nathan [Trott] for some great saves and our defenders for their blocks. They kept us in the game really.

"It hasn't been easy. With a first major injury like that you have no experience of it or how it's going to go. Or of the pain and fear. I appreciate everything the Club has helped me with. I'm really happy to be back playing.

"I've played the last three games now. Whether I'm called upon for 10, 20 or 60 minutes, I try and do my best for the team. It's the manager's call whether I start and I respect him fully.

"I'm excited for the last four games now. It's been a great season overall for the Club.

"I want to thank the fans for coming this long way on a Tuesday night, which they've been doing the whole season.

"It made it even nicer for me to score in-front of them when there were so many.

"I hope they enjoyed that one as well."

I bet the manager and physio are delighted that NG has got Salech in a neck hold.

Proper centre forward - great to see him back and scoring such a late, late goal.

After the match on Saturday v Bolton, took his shirt off on the walk around and he looked absolutely fit as a fiddle.
