I'd be surprised if 83 wasn't enough now, it will be one of the lowest points total needed this season for years to finish top 2

100%. My point, which is being missed, is we have the points on the board.

Bolton are far closer to dropping out of the playoffs than they are of catching us. 83 is 5 wins and 2 draws for Bolton. I've been saying 81 will do it for a while, it'll be less than that

someone check my maths but if plymouth beat bolton and we pick up 3 points against peterborough next time out we would go up if we beat bolton

Correct although technically Stockport are not out of it either. If they win their games in hand they would be on the same points as Bolton.

87 points would have been enough last season (with goal difference) but it's almost handed on a plate to us, 85 points will do it.

Handed on a plate?

We have won these points over the season.

As I said in another post Malky’s team got 17 points from last 10 games. High press teams can struggle back end of season. That year we had a huge squad.

Division 1 is poor, our fans know it. Be in this position next season in the championship will be totally different. Rubin and others know the bluebirds fans want us to beat the jacks and the robins , and then they are legends.

Just got back home after the journey from hell on the trains and my phone battery run out.

Nice surprise to see they both lost.

They now need four wins more than us and there are seven games left. Not happening.

I don't think we're quite at that stage yet. Of course you never want the teams around you to win but we're nowhere near relying on their results for anything. Whatever happens we'll still be 2nd going into this break, it's just a matter of how many points ahead we'll be.

Of course we are, we have got the rub of the green thank god the two defeats and two draws means Bolton could be 2 points behind us if they won them 4 games which they didn't obviously and would have us to play still and then arses would.be squeaky but thankfully that's not how it's worked out :bluescarf:

Just because 7 works for your agenda.

You know what works for my agenda?

39 games and we are second with 77 points. Now f**k off.

So, it was a point gained in the end against another team who turned and parked their bus in the wrong car park, i.e.the 18 yard box?

I was as disappointed as anyone with the two ‘home’ results this week but thankfully the work of BBM and his team over the season (one hand tied behind his back) has been incredible!

Despite the recent ‘blip’, we are in the driving seat because we have been consistent over the season. We are nearly there now and the only debate on that should by ‘at which game will it be confirmed’? :ayatollah:

Yes it's the old saying "it's a marathon not a sprint". If we go up we would have deserved it.

4 wins from our last 7 games guarantees promotion if my maths are correct.

I think we need 3 wins and a draw which will give us 87 points. Both Bolton and Stockport can get 87 points as well if they both were to win all their remaining games (Bradford can only get 86), but we have a much superior goal difference to both.

Re: Bolton and Bradford MESS UP

Bolton and Stockport will both not get to 87 points as they have to play each other .
