We really need a win after yesterday, lose and it's 3 defeats in the last 4 which then becomes a bit of an issue, I will back the lads to bounce back with a 3-1 win

Please just win boys. You've come too far to not see this through.

Barnsley weren't particularly great at home, barring a good striker that they sold in the Jan window.

Let's get that focus back and the steely confidence that we've seen for most of this season...and let's go!!!

Osho & Tanner should not be in the starting 11 if we want a win.

After losing 1-0 to Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday evening, Barnsley returned to winning ways by beating Exeter 2-1 at Oakwell Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Although Conor Hourihane's side sit eight points behind Huddersfield Town, who currently occupy the final playoff place, the Tykes do have three games in hand on the Terriers, as well as many of the teams around them.

What has prevented Barnsley from pushing further up the League One table so far has undoubtedly been their leaky defence, as despite there being only three other sides hitting the back of the net on more occasions, only two teams have conceded more than the South Yorkshire side's 55 goals after 33 games.

Having not won back-to-back matches since November 8, Barnsley will be looking to begin a promotion charge on Tuesday evening by winning consecutive matches ahead of a fixture run in which their following five games are all against sides below them in the league table.

However, claiming all three points against Cardiff will be no easy feat, with the Tykes losing seven of their previous nine matches against the Welsh side, the most recent of which being a 4-0 drubbing at the Cardiff City Stadium earlier in the season.

Barnsley FC v Cardiff City: Conor Hourihane says Saturday 'suffering' should serve Reds well -

A win was just what Barnsley needed headed into the daunting task posed by a visit from Cardiff City on Tuesday, but Conor Hourihane thinks a bit of "suffering" will have served them well too.
Despite taking a 2-0 lead inside 16 minutes at home to Exeter City on Saturday, Jayden Wareham's second-half goal meant the Reds had to hold on for victory.

Now they face a Cardiff side who won January's reverse fixture 4-0, and will be smarting from the 2-0 defeat at home to Lincoln City which cost them top spot in League One for the first time since November.

"They're a really good side, we've been watching them over the last couple of days," said coach Hourihane.

"We're in a decent place, we've won three in four, our home form seems to be in a decent place this year in the main.

"It's one of the games we're going to have to be at our very best to get a result, but one we're looking forward to as well."

He believes the workout the Grecians gave his team will serve them well, but stressed the need for help from a crowd who showed anger at the running of the club at the weekend by throwing tennis balls onto the pitch.

"We showed a good side of ourselves in terms of playing some good stuff to score a couple of goals early," he said of Saturday's performance. "Can we show our attacking output a little bit more and continue to do that?

"But at times on Tuesday night we'll suffer. We suffered against Exeter and that will breed confidence because we saw that out.

"There'll be patches on Tuesday where we need to see certain phases of the game out and we'll need the crowd to get with us as well to give the lads energy at the right times."

Barnsley are hopeful centre-back Jack Shepherd recovers from the knee problem which took him off on Saturday.

Scanlon sent tumbling

Barnsley look to probe the Cardiff defence from the off.

McGoldrick tries to latch on to a pass but catches Scanlon, who's sent tumbling.

Another cross comes in

From Colwill this time.
