Spurs away next season?

Thu Mar 05, 2026 8:56 pm

Spurs 3-1 down at home to Palace and down to ten men.

Would leave them one point above the bottom three with nine points to go, with West Ham and Forest both picking up results.

Surely the biggest shock if they end up in the Championship.

It would be great if one of the so-called Big 6 got relegated to the Championship.
It wasn't that long ago they were pushing to go into an elite European Super League!!

They are in real trouble now. West Ham are on decent form and look like they'll pull themselves away. If they lose to Forest in a couple of weeks they are cooked

They should never have got rid of Ange, the players would have run through brick walls for him. Everyone kept going on about finishing 17th but they were never in a relegation fight, with the injuries he decided in January to forget about the league and concentrate on winning in Europe as he rightly said that finishing 5th in the league would change nothing they had to win something to change. I’m afraid they’ve left it to late now, they should have done the same as United in November and brought in someone who knew the club till Poch was available in the summer. Harry, Tim Sherwood or Hoddle would have done it or Keane if they’d have wanted a permanent one. Personally I’d have gone for Harry as he’s a great man manager.

Spurs in the bottom three for the first time this season after West Ham won 4-0 against Wolves tonight.

They go to Sunderland on Sunday.

A must win for spurs away against Sunderland will be tough for them
even if they draw that is no good to them

I think west ham were too strong for wolves who made to many mistakes that west ham players utilised
to score the goals. But it's a west ham team full of confidence and I think if spurs are still in the relegation zone
by monday then they will have a big mountain to climb to claw out of relegation zone.

To be fair, Sunderland have been good at home this season. Not many win there.

But it's not looking good for Spurs. Two points adrift with six to play.

Brighton next week is a tough game for them too, they're in decent form.

Full Time, Sunderland 1 Spurs 0

Spurs in the relagation zone, 2 points off West Ham who are currently safe(just)

People are treating it like it would be the end of the world, even a ridiculous amount of non Spurs fans. It's nowhere near the end of the world for them, I remember us playing Chelsea & Man Utd in the old second division and maybe even Man City were on the bones of their arse at one time.

It's what makes the British game what it is & it's all the better for it. Maybe they will do as well as Leicester have done this season, even without the deduction they're quite poor.

I remember Man City and Villa in the old third division. We were in the second at the time.

I know a lot of Spurs fans they do think it's the end of the world. Truth is though they'll get to win every week and go to a bunch of places most of their fans have never been. It also gives you a chance to put a manager in with a style you want, bring through young players, instead of getting the biggest name you can find.

Absolutely no chance of them doing a Leicester. They are the biggest club that'll ever have played in the Championship as it is now by some distance, they'll be promoted with bells on

I mentioned this to my mate they other day it was only 7 odd years ago we were beating Villa and Forest and look how they have leapt forward, just shows what right investment and right people can do. Obviously both bigger clubs than us but our potential is there :bluebird:

I get what you're saying but the financial hit for a club like Spurs being relegated from the Premier League is far worse now than it was last time they were relegated from the top division.

You mention Leicester and it's just like Leicester winning the league was a far bigger shock than other clubs who weren't expected to when they won the league years ago.

Who would have predicted at the start of the season Lincoln city v Tottenham Hotspur as a league fixture next season

Just gets worse for Spurs as Leeds are 2-0 up away at Man Utd, who are down to ten men.

Leeds would be six points clear of the bottom three with six games to go if it stays like this.

Id love it for spurs to come down. What a cracking away trip! Nice little leveller for them. West Ham have already been down so their fans would probably take in their stride knowing they will bounce back up. A little bit of fear for spurs would be entertaining!!!

Bale back from retirement to save them?!?!?!

Leeds win, massive for them. They've got some winnable home games to go too against Wolves and Burnley.

Think it's now one of Spurs, West Ham or Forest that go down.
