From years of shite the phoenix is emerging from the ashes

Mon Feb 16, 2026 4:38 pm

It's such a great feeling to actually look forward to going to a City game now. We've had so many shite seasons recently with even worse football to watch.

I love our manager and the way he puts confidence in to the youngster's minds and gives them a platform to show what they can do and they have rewarded him with great performances by and large.

Looking forward to Tuesday v Wimbledon and I wouldn't have relished that last season :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

Never doubted the manager because his track record at academy level of improving players spoke for itself. Understand those that had a few doubts because it's different being a first team manager.

But he's exceeded all of our expectations to be honest. I would have been happy with play-offs going into this season - now I'd be gutted if we're outside the top two (I don't think we will he outside top two).

Like you, feel it's great to be looking forward to games again after the dross we've had to watch in recent years.

Although I'm still not pleased about how the club is run off the pitch by the hierarchy, on the pitch things haven't been this good for a while. Just hope we get the job done between now and the end of the season.

I'm just enjoying watching us again this season, i knew we would do well, I had money on us to finish in the play offs so we're slightly exceeding my expectations but quite happy to lose 100 quid to finish top 2

Absolutely, a pleasure to get down to the game now last few seasons have been a test of character for supporters but now we're getting rewarded with some outstanding football and long may it continue

Totally agree, this season has restored my passion for the club.

Not wishing to sound like the doom monster but I do worry about next season.

Given we go up, BBM isn't going anywhere and the majority of this squad stays, the issue of the hierarchy comes to the forefront once again.

Money will need to be spent if we want to carry the momentum into the Championship and there lies the issue.

It would be an absolute disaster if after such a season, we find ourselves struggling because Tan does not invest.

I would love to be proved wrong, but Im not sure I will

I'll be honest I also believed if we got promoted this season we would need a lot of investment to compete in the championship, but I've watched as much championship football as I can lately and the standard seems really poor apart from when I watched Middlesborough last week as they looked brilliant,

I will put my neck on the line and say if we get promoted and didn't bring a single player in or lose any over the summer we would comfortably finish mid table and with a couple of quality additions I will be lumping on us to finish in the playoffs

I've got a sneaky suspicion if we keep everyone including BBM we are going to absolutely run through the championship. Lots of young players who are getting better every week
