Isaak Davies could be out for more than 3 matches

Fri Feb 13, 2026 8:21 pm

BBC:

Cardiff City forward Isaak Davies faces a spell out with concussion after an off-the-ball incident that left head coach Brian Barry-Murphy fuming.

The Welsh club are believed to be disappointed by the lack of action over the incident at Rotherham United that is expected to see Davies miss their next three games.

Davies suffered the head injury in the closing stages of the League One leaders' 3-0 win over the Millers last Saturday.
No foul was given but Bluebirds boss Barry-Murphy described it as a "sickening blow", while players reacted angrily on the pitch.

It has now been confirmed Wales cap Davies, 24, suffered delayed concussion and has been unable to train as he follows protocols.

Cardiff have contacted officials in a bid to highlight the incident but no retrospective action is expected.
Davies is now set to sit out Cardiff's home games against Luton Town on Saturday (15:00 GMT) and AFC Wimbledon next Tuesday, as well as the trip to Plymouth on Saturday, 21 February.

We now have no recognised striker for the foreseeable future only a makeshift in kellyman and we have nothing on the bench to replace when needed,

so much for no need to sign anyone cover in january.

Sorry got carried away and forgot about Robinson so annoyed about this,
and as he has' nt featured much so apologies

Concussion has strict protocols so not much we can do about that.

BBM said he can be back training in a week.

Re: Isaak Davies could be out for more than 3 matches

Fri Feb 13, 2026 9:14 pm

Ashford Robinson and rubin can all play the false 9 if Kellyman needs a rest, scanlon and kpakio can both play wide if needs be so we still have a few options, however we really cant afford anymore injuries or suspensions for a few weeks

Re: Isaak Davies could be out for more than 3 matches

Well if the leagues officials cannot see what is happening to a side playing skillful football and becoming a victim of stop us playing at all costs, they dont deserve their jobs .surely referees will now apply better scrutinyand protection.

Understand the protocol it's the lack of action from the FA perhaps the letter to the FA should have been in braille as they seem to be blind to whats infront of them and we are without 2 strikers due to elbows used.

Yeah I agree it's poor from them.

Even more so as BBM said the refereeing people have ignored some of the reports we've put in.

In fairness to the ref he didnt see it because it was so so far off the ball. You can see in the video everyone is watching the ball. This one's on the FA to act, I wouldn't hold my breath on that one though

"Hi FA, we have footage here that's really zoomed out. Please ban the player" - Mehmet Dalman. Yeah that'll work.

We know it's naughty, and any decent footage would've shown that. A zoomed out view shows a collision, there's absolutely no way they can make an accurate decision.

I sent the video evidence to a paramedic friend of mine at derby he said that would be a section 18 /20 charged with assault, and the guy would be doing community stuff in a orange suit it should be persued.

Pursued by who though & to where? While I get that it was a blatant act & that the FA should have done something they've said no action will be taken & that's the end of it as far as they're concerned. Yes it's ridiculous that they've said that & that they're just burying their heads in the sand & they're okay with assault but where do you honestly think the club could go with this? I just don't see where they could go now.

Our club could kick up a fuss not just bbm ,
or a private prosecution dean Saunders did that years ago

recently there was an amateur game in north Wales a lad did the same and is now in the hands of the police.
My mates a x cop and he said hands down he would win the case with that evidence,
plus he the lad in question had previous history of a similar at barnsley. The video can be enlarged when running.

And also helped to get the "watergate" game abandoned. :banghead: Wouldn't be surprised if they were to give Isaak a 3 game match ban for damaging the Rotherham players elbow.

More reason this should be pursued in my book by the club,
i have x cop and para medic who have said it would be nailed on for issac if this is brought to the attention of the police making Howard Webb and the FA Look pretty stupid for dismissing this so easily.

See a collision, not clear and obvious if it's an elbow.

I forgot about that, thanks for reminding me Monty.

Howard Webb is head of the referees association (PGMOL) and, as you said, a Rotherham fan.

He also interfered with Watergate.

Doesn't feel like fairness is being applied.
