Yeah but didn’t you know, he misses chances occasionally which is shocking for a L1 striker!!

;) :laughing6:

So why didn't you mention his really bad miss midweek against Stevenage or is that another one you forgot about?

I'll stop now :laughing6: . Your points are fair, he could score more... but he could also be scoring less.

(Parting comment, because I just can't help it... Earnie and Ally McCoist just waxing lyrical about Salech...)

I watched him closely on Saturday and he never stopped running all game - chased down everything, made a few defensive clearances too and got ahead of his marker for a nice finish for his goal. I for one am glad that we have him - he'll get twenty or more goals this season which is what you want from your main striker.

Another easy chance missed. That's about 5 or 6 easy chances missed since I last posted on this thread.

I know most of you don't want to admit it but he can't head the ball.

If he can be bothered to jump for a cross and try to head it, it usually just loops over the crossbar, into the keepers arms or way wide.

He looks tired to me, he's been flogged into the ground the last month and needs a rest, I wish we had got tolaj instead of Plymouth, him and Salech sharing the target man duties would have strengthened us so much, I think we need to get another target man in this month just so Salech can catch a rest now and again

I love the guy, one of my fav players and I'll never question his desire/workrate...but I'm starting to question his positioning, must admit.

With that many corners and crosses today, how can you not score (even if they are not pin point).

Jesus lads. If we played a conventional old school way, he'd be on 20 already but we don't. We cut back inside, then pass back inside, switch flanks, shape to cross then pass backwards, then all of a sudden it comes in but not a wingers cross but a cross into an area as the wide lads are on the wrong foot.

We play a different game. I think i am about a third of the way through my football conversion therapy. :ayatollah:

I also think he is knackered.

I'm beginning to think he doesn't want to get into the right position because he doesn't want to miss an easy header because knows he's rubbish at heading the ball. There have been numerous occasions this season where he hasn't challenged for the ball from a cross and let a defender head clear unchallenged.

That header today has to go in. You don't even have to be good at heading the ball to put that in, it's simple.

It didn't matter in the end today but on another day it may have.

If he is tired then there's a six day break now until our next game.

I remember in a BBM interview a few weeks ago the guy asking questions said that YS played well and scored a good goal to which BBM replied that he’s doing ok but needs to work on the timing of his runs.
