BREAKING BRIAN BARRY-MURPHY : “THURSDAY 6TH NOVEMBER 2025”

:bluebird: :bluescarf:”TODAY BRIAN BARRY- MURPHY UPDATES CARDIFF CITY FANS” :bluebird: :bluescarf:

Thursday 6th November 2025

With 5 Defeats in BBM’S last 10 matches and a loss off form BBM’s needs a win away at 2nd from Bottom Blackpool this Saturday:

BBM TRAINING THIS WEEK:

"We've trained really well, training has been really good this week and the rest of the squad is in very good health.”

“It’s the highest level we’ve done since I have been at the club.”

INJURY UPDATE:

BBM:

"Due to the nature of Dylan Lawlor’s issues, we’ve been quite stretched“

BBM:

Ahead of Saturday's clash, Brian provided an injury update on his squad.

“We’ve not seen Will Fish this week in terms of training, he’s a doubt. I don’t think he will train today, but he may train tomorrow. In all likelihood, it’ll mean that he won’t be available for Saturday. “

“Since the game against Newport County, Will has had a knee problem and we’ve been monitoring him since then.

"Due to the nature of Dylan Lawlor’s issues, we’ve been quite stretched so Will has been the one who has played all the games, whereas we have rotated the other position at centre-back. The international fixtures come at a good time for us to try and get everyone fit.

“Will joins Perry Ng, who we’ll look to have back after the international fixtures and Chris Willock is in an identical timeline to Perry. Ollie Tanner is making good progress and Eli King is longer term.”

BBM:

"We’re looking to find real consistency in our performances and make ourselves the best version that we can be on a more regular basis.

"If we can strive to achieve that, then we’re confident of a performance that will give us a good chance to gain a positive result on Saturday.

"I’m speaking about how mindful we are of how hard we’re pushing the players because every time we’ve had a perceived setback in this dressing room, the response has been incredible.

"The Bolton game, that’s a pretty tough experience to go through, conceding in such a manner late in the game and to bounce back pre-Wrexham with the training performance that we saw, then produce that level of performance in the game.

"To then go again and put in a performance that was slightly frustrating at Peterborough, it’s just because we want so much so soon that we perceive it as being frustrating. “

“The quality of Blackpool squad has been pretty evident (2nd from bottom), but we’re focused on ourselves and training has been exceptionally good this week."

"This week, training has been of the highest level since I arrived here and I like everything that I’ve seen from the team.”

“The hunger within in the changing room is to compete against each other and strive to be in a position where each player can play on Saturday.”

Ronan Kpakio:

“It’s really exciting to be honest this season.”

“I’m quite young, so this is new to me, but being able to play loads of games week in, week out is all that I could really ask for, because I just want to get better.

“I’m grateful to be in the position where I’m able to be here and do this.

“I’d say the style of play is great, it has suited me as a player as well. I really like it.

“That helps me, I’m more comfortable and confident in what I do. Everything that’s been going on this season, from training to how it is around the group, the environment, everything is just really positive.

“That’s what we need. Where we want to be and where we want to go, we’re going to need that positive environment and that’s really helped us. Hopefully we can keep that up.

“I’ve been with Dak [Mafico] since I was about seven and have known him since I was about five, we’ve grown up literally playing together for the whole time, and now we’re both in the squad.

"People like Dylan [Lawlor] and Tanatswa [Nyakuhwa] who are a year older we’ve played with since we were about nine, so it’s quite mad when you think about it. We cherish the moment and being here all together.”

Blackpool game:

Ronan Kpakio :

“We want to dominate as much as possible, and then just get the points from them.

“We’re not going to win every single game, as we’ve seen so far, but we hope to put in performances that show that we’re able to, and hope that the result comes with it.

“We’re expecting Blackpool to be aggressive. We’re always going to set up in a way that focusses on ourselves, but with every team in the league it’s always going to be very tough.

“No team is going to make it easy, we can’t just brush past anyone. It’s about how we set up, how we play, our mindset and ultimately how hard we work.

“The fans play a massive part. Our fanbase and support is something that every person in our squad is so grateful for, and it’s always great seeing the away followings we’ve had and away ends selling out. It only helps us."

Re: BREAKING BRIAN BARRY-MURPHY : “THURSDAY 6TH NOVEMBER 202

BBM:

The Bluebirds boss outlined his plans for managing the fitness of the squad with two games in a short space of time.

“It’s something that is different for our club based on how many players we have being called up internationally in every age group.”

"We’ve pushed the players every day and at every corner this season, but we just have to be mindful of the fact that we can’t ask them to play on Saturday then play again on Tuesday based on how few players we have available.

"For that game in the Vertu Trophy on Tuesday, I’ll speak with Gavin Chesterfield and Darren Purse later today and come up with a squad that will represent us in that game.

"We had a big following of supporters for that game against Newport County and I think it’s important that we’re as clear and transparent as possible with our supporters to make it obvious what team we will have available for that game.

“The beauty of the squad that we have is that so many of the U21 and U18 players have been in our squads so they have had a lot of access to the games programme that we play in.

"The challenge for Tuesday is that the ones that have had the most exposure like Dakarai Mafico and Tanatswa Nyakuhwa for example, they aren’t available so you have to look at younger players. Robert Tankiewicz has unfortunately broken his collarbone so he won’t be available.

"It’s healthy for the young players to have exposure at First Team level, but in this competition, our team is going to be even younger because of who we have available."

“ WILL FISH “

Will Fish is highly unlikely to feature in Cardiff City's League one game at Blackpool on Saturday (15:00 GMT) after aggravating the knee problem he has been managing since the EFL Trophy loss to Newport in early October.

The 22-year old defender has played in every game since - scoring the winner in the EFL Cup triumph at Wrexham - but left the field shortly before the end of last Saturday's FA Cup defeat at Peterborough.

"We have not seen Will Fish this week in terms of training, so he's an extreme doubt," said manager Brian Barry-Murphy at Thursday's pre-match media conference.

"Even today I don't think he'll train, he may train tomorrow but in all likelihood that would mean he is probably very, very doubtful for Saturday."

Fish has become a main-stay in the Cardiff defence this year which shares the EFL record for most clean sheets with six.
Alongside Fish's absence, the Bluebirds will still be without defender Perry Ng and forward Chris Willock who Barry-Murphy hopes to have back after the international break.”

"We've trained really well, training has been really good this week and the rest of the squad is in very good health," the former Manchester City and Leicester coach added.

"The international break after the weekend comes at a good time for us in terms of trying to get Will fit and Chris Willock and Perry Ng.”

"By the time we come back, fingers crossed you never know what happens in International football, our squad should be in a really good place."
